however it can only go back int ime and then no further then when the machine was turned on. lets say he turns it on while your reading the first word of this sentence (lets). then, he ...........puts in a pencil when you read the first word in the next sentence (it). it can only go back up to a minute into the past, when you read lets. so its not so practacal

I think that it fails to mention that when you return to the present, after traveling back in time, you'll return as a gnat.

Okay, so, the part where he says that particles could just start randomly appearing, sent back in time from experiments performed much later?

What if you sustain these particles that magically appear, and then THOSE are the ones you send back to appear on the other side again?

Could this mean that a particle would exist that has no definite origin point, that ONLY exists in this perpetual time loop?

And wouldn't this technically prove that you cannot go back in time and change things, if it WOULD randomly appear like-

It happens every second. The Universe travels FORWARD in time at a rate of 1 second per second. We are physically traveling FORWARD in time. As I write this, I traveled 10 seconds INTO TEH FUTUREZ!

To travel BACKWARDS in time is IMPOSSIBLE. As to do so would require a Minimum of 2 of the same ATOMS in the same universe and the same time, and, as you know, since you are studying to be a Physicist, you would know that Matter and energy cannot be created nor destroyed, only converted from one to the other. So, 2 of the exact same atom CANNOT exist at the same time without destroying one of the 2 atoms, which, means that time travel, at least backwards, can't happen.
