Titanic - 2

I am watching this for the fx alone.

I saw a promo ad for another movie called Titanic 2, that featured Jack as a zombie...and that sounded much cooler.

Cooler? Yes. More realistic? No, and in this movie, that's a plus, because there's bound to be someone out there that thinks making a replica of the Titanic and sailing it on the same route is a good idea.

:lmao: I love Asylum. They are bordering on really funny satire at this point.

Here's the ad I saw for the OTHER Titanic 2...and seriously...it sounds a thousand times better than an attempted realistic take on a second Titanic...in fact, it sounds so awesome that this movie will likely never exist.

Megamonolith Pictures is holding an open casting call for TITANIC 2: MERMAID SAVIORS, a sequel to the Academy Award-winning 1997 blockbuster TITANIC, on July 1st and 2nd. The film begins moments after the sinking of the Titanic. All who have drowned are brought back to life by a futuristic race of mermaids, called the Mantocks, who welcome the humans to their underwater paradise. Soon after, JACK DAWSON is elected king of the underwater humans. DAWSON requests that all humans be returned above water, a request that is denied by KING MANTROCK. The humans are slowly brainwashed into worshiping their mermaid saviors. Meanwhile, the sunken TITANIC has become a haunted underwater wasteland inhabited by RAGGARO and his band of mermaid pirates. Will the humans ever free themselves from their mermaid slavery? Will the mermaid pirates wage war on Mantock?

All actors seeking consideration must reply to this post with:

1.) A headshot
2.) A few short paragraphs on why they’re qualified for MERMAID SAVIORS.

Actors with mermaid and under water acting experience are highly desirable.

You take your movies way too seriously.

If you are going to do a sequel to Titanic...have the guts to go as ridiculous as possible. The movie by The Asylum actually looks like they are trying to make a serious movie out of it. One of the many, many things that The Asylum can't do well is figure out where they stand. They believe that crap like Paranormal Entity and Transmorphers are serious entertainment...when in reality the only people who watch those movies are looking for light hearted fun. They end up failing at entertaining those who would seek the movie out, and failing to entertain those looking for a good film because their productions are always god-awful. If you are going to suck...make it laughably bad, not just boring.

This issue is best represented by Megashark vs Giant Octopus. As soon as word hit about that movie people wanted to see it (it was the number 1 viewed movie trailer of 2009). People were expecting a ridiculous, over the top movie.

Then, when they actually watched the movie...it turned out to be a boring, low budget, poorly acted, poorly scripted attempt at making a serious movie about a giant shark fighting a giant octopus. That simply is not what people wanted. It wasn't as dumb or fun as people had hoped. Now, along comes Sharktopus...which has a giant hybrid creature actually crawling on land to eat people. It's special effects arent even trying to be good. The script appears to be intentionally bad...it appears to be everything that people wanted from Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus.

When you are doing a sequel to Titanic, it isnt a smart idea to try to do a serious movie. The budget will be low, the script and acting bad...and your movie will just be a boring mess. Instead, throw ninjas and zombies and pirates and Jesus and whatever crazy ideas come to mind while writing it. Your movie will still suck, but it will be campy and fun as opposed to boring.

Oh those silly Aslyum guys. What's next, a low budget sequel to Ben-Hur? :cwink::hehe:
