TMNT: Movie action figures already OUT?!?

I finally found them last night. I had went to Toys R Us, and a couple of Wal-Marts last weekend with no luck. well one walmart had Leo and Don but I didnt want them frist, last night I went to another walmart had none...toys r us..had none. Went to Target and jackpot. Picked up Mikie and I gave in and got the Cowabunga Van lol...I dont know why but I did. I should've probably got the other 3 Turtles but with time I will.

Now i got ot decide if I want Mikie out of the package to display or keep in package and hang on the wall. Man the tough descions a 25 year old faces on a early Saturday morning.

LoL!!! I loved this post! :D Don't worry bro, I'm 25 as well and for some reason I look at all the things I should be thinking/worried/concerned about and toys almost always seems at the forefront!

Anything that appears in the darn movie i'm getting! That Cowabunga Carl Van is cool but it'd be awesome if they had that van so Mikey can get to his B-Day party gigs AND a van like they have in the new Animated Cartoon....that van is AWESOME!!! I mean the Carl Van has a few gadgets here and there but a disc shooter? Bah...the Cartoon van has like missles and all this cool armour.

And Darby if you are thinking of opening the Mikey figure I think you most certainly should man! Open that bad boy up and play with him! Get a couple of Foot Ninjas to beat up on!!!

...it's a wicked review of all the four brothers. I think these are the best Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle action figures to come down the pike, period!

Hmm, .. the review pretty much addresses all the problems I had with the figures, though I don't think any of the Michelangelos I saw had paint jobs near that awful. Maybe the guy just snatched a bad one, because he doesn't look stoned, he looks like he's tweaking meth. Raph's sais in the 2K3 figures were a bit bigger than normal, but the movie sais really are enormous, and the skintones leave a bit to be desired, like I mentioned before.

I'm not sure why everyone has such fond memories of the original movie figures, though. They looked alright, but they smelled, literally, and the smell began to permeate everywhere if they ever got over room temperature.

Still, I'll at least get Donatello. He seems to have gotten the best of everything in this set.
 
I think I'll pass on these toys. The only one that looks like a buy is Splinter. Like I said the Turtles seem too skinny and dinky-looking. Like they're all lightweights.

I'll buy the videogame, but not the toys. And what is up with Mikey's figure? He looks like he got stoned, or smashed, or something. Good Lord! Who ever designed his figure needs to be kicked in the head.
 
The only problem with these toys I have arethe heads. But thats not so bad once you see them in person. I set them up on my shelf in my old TMNT playset I had since I was a kid.
 
Got all four of them just now.
 
Alright I gave in and opened up Mikie. People keep saying he looks stoned or on meth, truth me told he looks like a fat guy (me) who justsaw Domino's pull in with his order.

Anywho I opened him up, love the skateboard he came with, opened up Carl's Cowabunga Van. Loaded the Pizza's into the shooter and I was impressed at how fast they shot out. It would take out a foot soilder no doubt.

I somewhere today that they are coming out with a Mini Set of everyone in the movie. I dont mean the individual mini's either (even though they are making them too) I mean like all 12-16 people are in one pack.

Also after I opened mikie I had to get the rest of my crap out and well I realized I have no bad guys...so I had to think quick and well...Spidy and Wolverine had some eveil microchips in them that turned the evil and they where the bad guys. It was a tough fight but in the end my pair of Mikies beat them pretty good. Spidy was easy but it took atleast 4 Pizza's to take Wolvie out and we got the shell out of there in the van before he healed....

and now we see what kind of post happens when this 25 year old stays up past 11.....

My mission this weekend. The Giant Talking Mikie.
 
got the four turtles and finally a splinter that looks like a wise old rat
i,m a big leo fan but of the four turtles ralph looks the best temped to take
him out his box but i won't.
mikey dose not look that bad just got to get used to him
having big blue eyes.
there are good size and seem better scale next to other splinter looking
shorter than boys in green.
over all i'm impressed but i do hope karai comes with out that mask in the
second set.
 
I was shocked to see them at Target yesterday
Talking Leonardo,Splinter,a playset and a few other items.
 
I have mine all set up as if they're climb'n my bedroom wall. I have wires along the frame near the ceiling, so i have Don grappling on to em, scaling my wall wear'n his high tech gear, and raph is at the top pullin Mike by his knunchucks, who is having a blast dangling, and leo is strife'n along the wires.

Did anyone have an issue with Splinter? Like say... TWO LEFT HANDS?!

I didn't notice, nor did i really look till i open'd his box.. now i'm kinda stuck unless Target takes him back as a defect. And they should! Although alota people look for these n think they're cool.. i however don't and am ripped about that. They only had 1 Splinter, n no other stores have him... and its a defect!

Good thing i'm not an animal while opening their boxes.
 
I hope they release a Donatello that does machines, I mean comes with a cool playset.
 
Surely they will take him back. They gots to.

Also did it take anyone else more than 10 minutes to unwrap all the wire on these figures? I had alteast 3 foot of wire ties on Mikie. lol...oh well as I stated before my mission tonight is talking Mikie....if I fail them I'm picking up the 3 other Turtles
 
Okay...so FINALLY, FINNNNAAAALLLLY these figures are out at a Wal-Mart in my city (only store to carry the damn things now though) and I have to say I'm happy/sad.

Happy because they are finally out and look incredible...

SAD (and pissed I should say) becuase the quality of these things is brutal in regards to their faces! Someone fell asleep at the switch big time! Very sloppy indeed..the only one i got was the FootSoldier...:(

I am kinda pissed..anyone else feel the same way?
 
No no it's not that I HATE them, I actually LOVE them so much, they are fantastic figures....really good articulation and size and sculpting first and foremost!

HOWEVER it's the way the paint applications on some of the figures are....very sloppy...I.E.--Mikey's eyes look like some drunk dude painted them on, the iris of the eyeball runs down and trickles on the side of the face and Don has a HUGE gash in his nose, and Raphs red paint on his bandana is running off his nose on most of the figures iv'e seen....Leo has a wonky eye paint job on the 2 figs. i saw.

It's just kind of maddening..I know they all can't be perfect..but it just sucks the paint was so poorly applied...or in Dons case the paint was fine it's just his gigantic SLIT with a knife or so it seems, all across his nose.

Saw these figures back during Christmas time at Wal-mart and Target. The large 12"/13" talking ones with the moving mouth were pretty neat looking.

I have to agree that those figure are made a bit cheap... The paint jobs is not the best i've seen, but we have to understand that those are, unlikely like star wars or spider-men toys, KID figures. There not expensive to buy, most of buyers are children and they will be all happy even if the quality is not as good as hasbro or toys or whatever... I bought a Raph, had to choose among 4 to take the one with the greatest paint job.

If you search, you will find a batch on mickey with better eyes
 
I haven't picked them up yet. If I get out this weekend, I will b/c I have a $125 TRU giftcard and I've always wanted 6" turtle figs with good POA.

I think they are $7-$8 in the US.
 
Got all four turtles at Target. 8 dollars each. Target most of the time has the best selection of the TMNT figures. Toys R Us and Wal-Mart are slacking.
 
I've noticed that. TRU had like 2 or 3 of 1 turtle and then only 1 of another. And they had 1 of the non-turtles figs. Target had a crap load of everything.

When I went to Target, all they had were the front-strapless Leo's. When I went to Toys R Us, all Leos had the strap across the front.
