Tony Blair to resign

Matt said:
I honestly wouldn't be suprised if the second Gordon Brown steps into office he announces a massive withdrawl of British Troops from Iraq. The Labour party is going down, fast...and it is because of this IRaq debacle. It is what killed Blair's tenure. Brown is going to have to do something to distance himself from Bush, and while I don't see a total withdrawl of British troops, I think there is going to be a massive cut back.

What will the results state-side be? Perhaps the English Muffin will become the Freedom Muffin?

that sounds delicious.

I will enjoy speaking the American language.

Social Democracy according to Wikipedia

Oh ok, there Centrist but more on the liberal side.

that's why the dems need to take over congress in the upcomming elections, to eliminate the republican's all encompassing power over every branch of the government.

The Democrats are just as equally horrible if not more horrible than the Republicans.

I hate their leadership even more than I hate the leadership of the Republicans (Ted Kennedy, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reed, Hillary Clinton, Howard Dean, etc).

Just like the Republicans have abandoned their moderate and liberal-esque supporters, the Democrats have done so to their moderate and conservative supporters (Zell Miller made a great point that the Democratic Party has left him. Despite comming off as a complete nut-job, I can sympathize with him because I feel like that the Republican Party has left me)

They have no platform besides "We're not Republicans." While the Republicans may have a stupid platform, it's at least better than that. I find it sad that they actually have a chance of winning with that platform. A platform of "We're not the opposition" is a platform that does not even deserve to win.

That is why I would rather see a democrat controled Congress. With a Republican in the executive branch, democrats controling the legaslative would force a more moderate agenda, even if both parties are against it.

set aside your disgust for the modern democrat party and just realize that no party should have a monopoly on the governing of this country. i don't think the dems are as bad as you're making them out to be. they aren't all brainless twits. there's some good onese with good ideas. they just don't get the publicity they deserve.

Except the Democrats are so thick-headed they now refuse to work with the Republicans, especially George Bush. A moderate agenda will not be created. If the Democrats are elected to the majority, mark my words: The 110th Congress will be even more useless than the 109th Congress.

And honestly, I loathe Nancy Pelosi with such a passion. I would especially hate to see her as House Speaker.

I'm not saying that all Democrats are bad. Hell there are some rather good ones like Mark Warner and others.

Like I said, I am disgusted with the leadership of the party. They are the ones who are brainless twits.

You knew it was coming anyway hes been in power since `97

Great news. Now we just have to somehow get the Americans to boot Bush Jr. and his puppets out of the office as well and all will be fine. :o:up:

Bush is the puppet.

Well my political science professor was off by about a year and a half.

I used to have massive respect for Tony Blair back in the day, and I still do really, its the right thing for his country and for him IMO.

Just some minor miscalculations while deciphering the Mayan timetables and coded words in the Apocrypha.

Yeah he predicted it would be August 5th or 4th of last year. Damn him.

(Actually he said March)

Politics has went down the tubes, in both Britain and America.

Blair's resigning, but not for awhile. Will Brown really pull out troops from Iraq in an attempt to distance himself from what took Blair down??

Come next election, it will be a choice between David ****ing Cameron and Labour. How is that democracy? David Cameron is even worse than Blair. I used to like Blair and respect him until the "war on terror" started. David Cameron is just as bad if not worse, you know that guy is going to be just as tight with Bush as Blair was. He's going to make fox hunting legal again if he gets elected.

Politics is a joke.

I'm glad Hippie_Hunter missed me. Want to hug, honey?
