Is the death of hip hop among us? Three artists are country acts, 1 is a Disney musical group, and all the others but two are pop or rock.

Pretty sure High School Musical made #2 because it was heavily promoted at Wal-Mart.

And as far as the best album of the year is concerned...

Ugh, I have to listen to the high school musical all the time because of my sister and her friends.

It's some of the worst music I've heard.

If I have to hear "WE'RE BREAKING FREEEEEEEEE" one more time

The new Audioslave cd was pretty good. Much better than their second one and on par with the first.

Yeah they do. Surprising to see Johnny Cash there...but pretty much the rest of those are pretty terrible bands. Nickelback had like one good CD and that's long past them now. I guess most teeny boppers this day and age have horrible musical taste. I guess you can't COMPLETELY blame the dumb teens who buy whatever is fed to them...but they aren't helping.

Green Day have an album next year as well, seeing as they are beeing flogged to death they will be pretty high sellers

Brand New's album came out like 2 weeks ago, it's not gonna be a top seller this year.

Tom Waits' Orphans is the album of the year for me. That old bastard just can't stop making amazing music.

look how low the numbers are. there was a time when artists were selling almost 2 million in one week. i remember at least 2 artists selling over 2 mill in one week (one was n'sync, think the other was garth brooks).

with all the downloading and stuff these days, cd sales are really down. that, and the 18.99 price tag most come with.
