Top 10 albums of the year

look how low the numbers are. there was a time when artists were selling almost 2 million in one week. i remember at least 2 artists selling over 2 mill in one week (one was n'sync, think the other was garth brooks).

with all the downloading and stuff these days, cd sales are really down. that, and the 18.99 price tag most come with.

Only N'Sync has sold 2+mil in a week. I only know that from the research I did earlier tonight on grunge...

As it stands from what I can figure out, first week sales records look like this

1. N'Sync - No Strings Attached 2.4 mil.
2. Backstreet Boys - Millenium 1,134,000
3. Garth Brooks - Double Live 1,085,373
4. Pearl Jam - Vs 950,000+* (*at the time rather than the full seven days, only the first five days were counted, more than likely Vs is #2.)

That said my albums of 2006 in no particular order:

I can't disagree with that - but still even a subpar Decemberists albums is better than most of the crap out right now! Castaways and Cutouts is always going to be my favorite though. (So. Good. Gah.)
