Only N'SyncComicChick04 said:look how low the numbers are. there was a time when artists were selling almost 2 million in one week. i remember at least 2 artists selling over 2 mill in one week (one was n'sync, think the other was garth brooks).
with all the downloading and stuff these days, cd sales are really down. that, and the 18.99 price tag most come with.

As it stands from what I can figure out, first week sales records look like this
1. N'Sync - No Strings Attached 2.4 mil.
2. Backstreet Boys - Millenium 1,134,000
3. Garth Brooks - Double Live 1,085,373
4. Pearl Jam - Vs 950,000+* (*at the time rather than the full seven days, only the first five days were counted, more than likely Vs is #2.)
That said my albums of 2006 in no particular order:
10,000 Days - Tool
Pearl Jam - Pearl Jam
Living With War - Neil Young
Rebel Meets Rebel - Rebel Meets Rebel
A Matter of Life and Death - Iron Maiden
Black Stone Cherry - Black Stone Cherry
Revelations - Audioslave
