Top 10 Cate Blanchett Movies

Seeing as there are top 10 threads for pretty much every other actor in existence in this forum at the moment, I thought I'd start one on my personal favourite actor.

I've had to make two separate lists, because when it comes to Cate, I rank her movies by two different things: 1) Her performance and; 2) the movie overall. So my first list is a top 10 ranking of her actual movie performances, and the second is a list of the top 10 movies I personally love that feature Cate in them.

I've only seen her in LOTR, Thor:Ragnarok and the Aviator. I haven't watched her in any of these other movies yet. I was once planning to watch Blue Jasmine, but never got round to it.

I've only seen her in LOTR, Thor:Ragnarok and the Aviator. I haven't watched her in any of these other movies yet. I was once planning to watch Blue Jasmine, but never got round to it.

I'm not big on Blue Jasmine as an actual film (not a Woody Allen fan), it's all about the Blanchett performance for me. It's a tour de force, one of the singular best pieces of acting I've ever seen, she deserved every one of the 530294 awards she won for that role.

Nice, liking the inclusion of Notes on a Scandal (such an underrated movie, how can you not love a film that contains psycho spinster closet lesbian Dame Judi Dench who is crazy obsessed with stupidly hot teacher Cate Blanchett who is secretly sleeping with one of her students? ) and Hanna. The latter was just outside of my second top 10, another underrated movie.

Yeah, Notes on a Scandal is truly great. Blanchett does of course a great performance, but evil Dench is something else here.
