Ah the 80's, the movies and the music will always have a place in my heart! :D: Pretty simple thread, list your top 10 songs, NOT themes/scores, from 80's movies!

10. Ghostbusters (Ghostbusters)

9. Angel of the City (Cobra)

8. It´s a Long Road (First Blood)

7. What A Feeling (Flashdance)

6. In this Country (Over the Top)

5. Take my Breath Away (Top Gun)

4. No Easy Way Out (Rocky IV)

3. Eye of the Tiger (Rocky III)

2. The Power of Love (Back to the Future)

1. I'll Be Holding On (Black Rain)

In addition, 10 others I really love (no particular order):

Always preferred this over The Touch.

could only find good links for a live version of this from Highlander..

Looks like youtube is having all sorts of problems right now...I thought it was just me but then I refreshed this page and see the same error on the original post too.

Maybe that's why I couldn't load up YT videos as well.

Yeah I just restarted my comp and youtube is still acting wonky.

Yeah, whenever I try to start random YT video I get: "An error accorred, please try later".

Don't You (Forget About Me) is easily the best. I'm merely listing songs made for the films... of course their are epic songs off of 80's soundtracks (In Your Eyes), but those shouldn't count.

And, as a Prince hardcore fan... I can't include anything off of Purple Rain [best album of all time], because it would just be every song and 17 Days, ha.

2
Live To Tell - Madonna, At Close Range
3-4
Back In Time - Huey Lewis & The News, Back To The Future
5
Kiss - Prince, Under The Cherry Moon
6
Call Me - Blondie, American Gigolo
7
If You Leave - OMD, Pretty In Pink
8
Against All Odds (Take A Look At Me Now) - Phil Collins, Against All Odds
9
Partyman - Prince, Batman
10
The Power Of Love - Huey Lewis & The News, Back To The Future

honorable mention
Holiday Road - Lindsey Buckingham, Vacation

Yay youtube works again! Huh, I expected some Maximum Overdrive footage in that Who Made Who video.

Thanks, now I will edit my post above. And have to say, as an old school AC/DC fan, I really hated Maximum Overdrive (and it's one of their way lesser songs back then) lol.

I remember that haunting music, and also how I left the cinema with a great experience. I actually tried to find the LP with that score back then (like 30+ years ago..) with no success. Of course we all know that a few years later another movie would come that left that one more forgotten..

Will come back with other 'songs' but Simple Minds 'Don't You Forget About Me' would be my top choice, very closely followed by The Power of Love from BTTF.

Of course, for me, THIS has to be included.....I appreciate it and the film are incredibly cheesy but both have a very warm place in my heart for personal reasons.

The melting eyeball scene in Biggles freaked me out as a kid.

Alice Cooper- He's Back (The Man Behind the Mask) gtom Friday the 13th Part VI

I have to think, but I'll post my numbers one and two:

1 - Cry Little Sister (from The Lost Boys) - Gerard McMann

2 - Love Hates (from Tuff Turf) -
Marianne Faithful

whats the song from the end credits of Commando?

5 - We Don't Need Another Hero (from Mad Max: Beyond the Thunderdome) - Tina Turner

6 - People are Strange (from the Lost Boys) - Echo & The Bunnymen

7 - It's Too Late (from Tuff Turf) - The Jim Carroll Band
