So there was recently that "Superhero Movie" comedy, and there was "Mystery Men".

Are there any more?

Is this a Sub-Genre, or just a couple of bad movies????

Superhero Comedies, Funny or Not??

Meteor Man is the only other one I know about. Never heard of the specials.

And I'll also add in Sky High. It's full of Disney humor.

Blankman
The Mask
Zoom (a little kiddie though)

The Incredibles people. The Incredibles.

Might as well mention Hancock and My Super Ex Girlfriend.

The Greatest American Hero (TV comedy).

Batman (TV comedy).

Condorman is worth a look, even if it is more a spoof on James Bond than comicbook heroes.

definatly mystery men... that cast was a gold mine of comedic actors

Meteor Man
Sky High
Blankman
Mystery Men

Those movies are just genius! They are so tongue in cheek, but always manage to have some heart to them.

Man, I still remember seeing Meteor Man in the theater and loving all the cameos.

But in the realistic world, we all know the Bloods and Crips wouldn't team up like that.:o

The Bloods and Crips would if Black Superman showed up and learned em some knowledge. :o

Blankman FTW

Wow what a great response for my first post. So let's recap :)

The funniest superhero movies/shows/characters are:

Superhero the Movie - which I did mention in the initial post.

Orphaned high school student Rick Riker is bitten by a radioactive dragonfly, develops super powers (except for the ability to fly), and becomes a hero.

Its a screw ball comedy.

Mystery Men - which is a classic with the fork-flinging Blue Rajah, the shovel-wielding Shoveler, the posessed bowling ball-hurling Bowler, the flatulent Spleen, the only-when-nobody's-looking Invisible Boy, the mysterious Sphinx, and the perpetually-angry Mr. Furious...and many more as part of the cameo cast.

The Specials - Which I haven't seen, but looks good. The summary is:
America's 7th Best Superhero Team, the Specials, are a group of geeks and oddballs. We get to see one day in their lives as fan and new member Nightbird joins the group, just in time for the group to get a new line of action figures. But the members' extreme personalities and personal issues threaten to rip the group apart.

The Mask - Which I'm sure we've all seen, but I hadn't thought of, thank you Gilpesh. The summary is:
Bank clerk Stanley Ipkiss is transformed into a manic super-hero when he wears a mysterious mask.

Blankman - Darryl is a childlike man with a genius for inventing various gadgets out of junk. When he stumbles on a method to make his clothes bulletproof, he decides to use his skills to be the lowest budgeted superhero of all. Sounds good doesn't it, I'll have to check that one out
.

Meteor Man - One night Jefferson Reed gets hit in the chest by a souped-up chunk of meteor. So he can fly, but he's scared of heights. He can master the information in any book ... for about fifteen minutes. Now his friends and family want him to protect their community from the dreaded Golden Lords.

My Super Ex Girlfriend
- Which was a real delight, though I guess you go into it with out much expectation and superhero chicks are hot...lol. The summary is: He broke her heart. She broke his everything.

Hancock, Men In Black, Remo Williams
- I really couldn't call these superhero movies. If you think they are, you'll have to make some kind of case for it.

Orgazmo - Joe Young is a young Mormon actor who preaches the word of God in LA and can't get anything from it. One day he stumbles on the set of new porno movie shot by well known porn director Maxxx Orbison. Maxxx chooses Joe for the title part in his new movie Captain Orgazmo. Joe soon befriends short and skinny Ben Chapleski (his sidekick in the film), who invented a ray-gun which emits a light beam that causes the most intense orgasm in whoever it hits (called Orgasmorator). Unexpectedly movie Captain Orgazmo becomes a cult hit, and Joe's girlfriend Lisa accidentally sees the movie in the video store - and the problems begin.

I hadn't heard of this one, I guess it is superhero themed...

Black Superman
- Upon moving into a bigoted neighborhood, the scientist father of a persecuted black family gives a superpower elixir to a tough bodyguard, who thus becomes a superpowered crimefighter.

lol...its from the seventies.

In the Kids section:

The Greatest American Hero - A teacher is asked to be a superhero using a special alien suit with powers he can barely understand or control.

Zoom - Former superhero Jack is called back to work to transform an unlikely group of ragtag kids into superheroes at a private Academy.

Sky High - Set in a world where superheroes are commonly known and accepted, young Will Stronghold, the son of the Commander and Jetstream, tries to find a balance between being a normal teenager and an extraordinary being.

The Incredibles - A family of undercover superheroes, while trying to live the quiet suburban life, are forced into action to save the world.

Now I don't know about the old "Batman & Robin" series, because although there are some obvious comedic moments, its not very funny. It looks funny to us now because...well...people were kinda lame in the 1960's...lol Maybe you've seen it, but "Striperella" series ( Pamela Anderson provides the voice of Erotica Jones who is stripper by night and superhero Stripperella by even later at night.), totally stole old "Batman & Robin" comedy bits and also flopped so I got it one the maybe pile...

I'd like to add,

The Tick - The story of superhero The Tick, based on the popular comic book.

But that can't be an exhaustive list???

Lets think of more!

I'd add more but you'll just try to make me write an essay on why I liked it.

Spider-Man 3 was the biggest comedy superhero of last year...but it made me cry.
