OK, so the infamous walk out has been discussed to no end by people who didn't see the film when the story first came out.

So here's the deal. You've seen Clerks II. You now have seen the scene which Siegel walked out on (Randal and Elias talking about the donkey show).

The purpose here is to vote on whether or not that particular scene was vulgar enough to walk out on.

So vote: do you think Siegel was right in walking out at that point?

To me, it didn't seem as offensive as he made it out to be.

Personally I love the film but I agree with my friend, who also like the movie, the whole donkey scene is not really nessacary at all, it's hilarious but it's more for shock value than anything else, and it'll probably grow old wiht repeated viewings. But as for Siegal, wasn't the issue him causing a scene not so much that he walked out?

The movie was great... the donkey scene wasn't that bad. Siegel didn't have to be an ass and walk out... it's not like they showed any parts of the donkey or any penitration. Siegel's the jackass.

I thought the movie was fantastic. He should have stayed, just to see the amazing movie. And no, it wasn't really that offensive.

It's the issue of him making a scene, vocally making his thoughts known while the movie played. Walking out is bad enough, given IT'S HIS JOB TO WATCH MOVIES!!! Walking out is a right that should only be reserved for average moviegoers who pay!!

It's ok if he walked out. If he didn't like it, that's fine. But I would have a problem if someone got up from a movie and started being a loud mouth and interrupting the dialogue. There is a reason why they tell you to be quiet during a film.

I probably should've conveyed my question here a bit clearer:

We know he walked out. That's really not the issue here. What I meant to really ask was, now that you've seen the movie, was the movie, let alone that scene, really that inappropriate that would drive someone up a wall so far that it would cause them to make a scene and run?

and i agree, it was an amazing movie. it's a shame he acted like a jackass. it almost shocks me that he sits thru bewithced aka cinematic garbage, but not clerks 2.

Considering Siegel is really annoying to me. Sure it's just more marketing for a excellent movie.

Yeah he got up cursing and making a scene as he stormed out. He's proud of it too.

I didn't mind the scene so much - then again, I'm not easy to offend, and I knew what I was getting into with Clerks II, being a fan of the original Clerks and Smith's other films.

However, in my theatre there was a little old lady that was gone by the time that scene showed.

As far as the "incident" goes, it really frustrates me. I'm a student entertainment writer, and even I know that that's EXTREMELY unprofessional. It's fine if you're disgusted enough with a film to walk out, even as a film critic, but it's just bad form to make a big fuss ("IT'S TIME TO LEAVE!") as you do so.

What burns me even more is the way he was totally like "Well, whatever." When Smith confronted him in a radio interview, he said he would be quieter next time, but never apologized.

Bleck. What an unprofessional, punny prick.

And he still reviewed it. He didn't see it all...but he reviewed it
