Totally Insane Ebaying PS3 Nutjob *****ebags of the Week! (Interesting AICN article)

They got kicked off the premises anyway. Not that it matters, because a bunch of scalpers were probably going to be right in front of them waiting to sell all of them to rich frat boys, while the actual GAMERS get left out in the cold with nothing to show for it.

Should of planned your **** like I did once I saw how much the X360 went for.

I have two brothers and a free-loading roommate. I pay for all my brothers ****, so I told them all they need to do is camp out and BE SURE to get a 60g PS3 the day it comes out. I already had three different presale tickets from three different stores around my area. Each brother went to one, and my roommate guy went to the third. I'm still waiting on getting all three at my current residence, but I do have in hand. My brothers just havn't come over yet.
Pre-orders were about impossible to get though.

No, the actual GAMERS have or want a 360. Everyone else are casual noobs and scalpers.

I'm with Blas. Half of this is to blame on Sony themselves.

The short supply, the high price, the ads.

You guys are wrong. Sony is not to blame, they are marketing their product and are doing nothing different than any other system launch since the PS2. Does anyone remember the 360 short last year? It was JUST as bad in fact wasn't the number of shipped units smaller than Sony's number of shipped units? MS blitzed the market with advertising as well.

Same thing.

You cannot blame the corporation for the greed of everyone else. Sony also has stated they will release 100,000 units a week until the end of the year. Sure the short shipment of units helps them, but they are not to blame for some *****e robbing a PS3 from some other ebay *****e who wanted to sell his and make a few bucks.

Also, that AICN article must have been written by a genius. Taking 2 days off work, buying a PS3 for 600 and selling for 900 does not equate to 300 bucks profit. Two days of lost wages, two days of extra expense dining out does not equal 300 bucks profit. Now consider that probably another 3 days staying home sick from work because you were stupid and thought camping out on the concrete in 45 degree weather for a couple days was a good ida. Now all that certainly does not add up to 300 bucks profit made by the ebay seller ;)

No actually actual gamers appreciate and want all systems, not suck on the teet of one while doing nothing but cursing the others. Actual gamers are smart enough to know that every system has its good and bad and want to enjoy the good of each one individually.

We wouldn't be gamers if we graciously accepted every system on the market. :p

Gamers care about the games, not the system maker :)

No, actual gamers arent idiots for corporations to trick into buying a blu ray player.

Actual gamers are smart enough to know what they are trying to do.

Wii- innovative, if somewhat last gen. X360- amazing games. PS3 - absoloutly no games worth having, but hey, it's a cheap blu ray player!

When most of your launch lineup is available on other systems, those system exclusives better be worth it. So far, none are.

PS3's launch lineup doesn't really matter now except for Resistance, because by the time there's enough systems avalible for the mass market, more games will be out.

Think of PS3's launch as being more of a "preview release" than anything else. That's what happens when you only ship 133,000 systems.

Perhaps in theory. But there are plenty of things in theory that don't quite work out that way in reality. Why should we be accepting of a console thats at bare minimum 100 dollars more than the competition, so we can play the games which right now over half of which are inferior ports (check the reviews. Activision and EA games have either worse texturing, or less features than the 360 versions)?

This launch was pure hype, plain and simple. I had people telling me they really wanted one, and really didn't know why. Then, of course, after launch, they realized its too much trouble for what it is.

Granted, I'd love to get a ps3 for their online downloadable games. Those look really fun (even though Blast Factor is most definitely a rip off of Mutant Storm Reloaded and Geometry Wars), but even that can't justify the purchase. The only reason PS3's are selling right now is because of pure hype. Most people who got one say they are impressed, but not $600 worth of "blown away".

Haha, my friends are buying PS3's and auctioning them up on Ebay. They make me proud, they make me proud... :(

It'll be interesting how this all turns out.

On the contrary (at least for EA) one of the raves for the PS3 Madden are the extra features available on that version that are lacking on the 360. Granted next years 360 release might have them as well since no doubt that version of Madden was rushed to market.

A lot of the port overs to the PS3 (IE the games that are appearing on the PS3 now that appeared on the 360 prior) are apparently showing minor improvements over the 360 versions (more dev time?). Activisions PS3 games are an absolute mess though. A lot of 'launch at the same time' PS3/360 games are runnign a little bit better on the 360 mostly because Sony is paying for their worse tool support right now versus the better tool support of Microsoft (Plus a lot of those games used the 360 as the lead platform).
