Watchmen and before that was a 2 second Title screen for the next Harry Potter.

Ditto. At 2.5 hours, there was just enough time for the showing ahead of us to let out, for us to get in our seats, and then about 5 minutes later the show started. Adding more trailers would've delayed the showings by 15-30 minutes apiece, which would not be a good thing. Especially for the beancounters at the theaters.
