Is it possible? or

they are gonna break the 2-year gap

When a movie franchise is generating hundreds of millions of dollars, I imagine more films are on the way.

I wouldn't expect anything until 2014 at the earliest. Too many things are up in the air. Particularily whether or not Bay will return, and also if he doesn't, should they do a sequel or reboot.

I think they should get rid of the 2 year thing, for me, DOTM wasnt enough of an improvement over ROTF as they said it would be, why not make it 3 or even 4 years until the next sequel if they arent going to re-boot or whatever.

Give the writers a bit more time to develop the story, as neither sequel really got close to the first movie for me.

No way by 2013, a movie of this caliber you would basically have to start prepping right now. With no director or star on hand, 2014 at the earliest. I doubt even that unless they just churn out whatever.

It's possible.

If they land a new director by this fall, they can start pre-production in January of '12, filming in the Summer of '12, and post-production Fall of '12 through Spring of '13. Release in the summer.

But I doubt it. I think they'll wait for the DVD sales in the fall (they'll be big, but how big?), figure out what kind of story (reboot/sequel) they want to do next, hire some writers in Jan of '12, hire a director in Summer of '12, pick a script and then green-light TF for 2014.

With Transformers making $1 Billion World Wide & this being the first Paramount movie to make $1 Billion this will probably happen

Transformers vs GI Joe... sooner or later...

I just dont want them to rush, the last 2 movies have given the impression they were rushed with silly plot devices and holes, give them time to polish the script and THEN go from there.

I'm all for a sequel, I just don't want Michael Bay to return to it.

There are a few superhero movies to keep us busy through 2013 so I wouldn't want it out then, I'd rather 2015 so that the hype can really, really build up.

I just hope this fourth movie wouldn't take a long time. A lot of big movies took a long time to release the "Insert movie name here 4".

i think they need to do like lord of the rings and keep a certain plot brewing for the next trilogy. like bring in unicron to revive megatron to galvatron and his minions, let galvatron kill optimus prime and take the optimus primes body to unicron leaving the autobots without a leader and end the fourth movie with hot rod realizing he is next in line to lead and the decepticons looking victorius. the fifth movie should start with hot rod finding the matrix and becoming radimus prime and leading the autobots to unicron to retreive optimus primes body and returning home to earth and end it with opitmus being revived and plotting to mount a attack on unicron. then the sixth and final movie be just optimus and the rest of the autobots leading an attack to unicron with no humans in the mix and the autobots finally killing unicron and most of the decepticons and finally retaking cybertron back i dont know about the rest of you but if it worked for lotr and that twilight movie trilogy why not transformers i kno it would keep me interested just cause you'll want to see what happens next like the cartoon.

If they rush this movie it will end up like that Transmorphers movie I saw on SciFy a few months ago.

Horrible.

Why do so many just want some sort of rehash of the '86 movie?

Every Bayformer movie has been a rehash.

Sam and love interest flirt, Sam gets caught in the middle of autobot/decepticon conflict, Sam must get from point A to point B to save the day. Add, rinse, repeat.

But my question was, why do so many people want basically a remake of Transformers: The Movie?

i dont think its a 86 transformer rehash especially since radimus prime was the savior in that movie. im talking about a new generation of transformer fans getting a taste of the old school transformers in a new fashion as we have seen as of late except bring unicron into the mx brings back transformers back to its roots for which is what this franchise needs to succeed cause the crap they have been putting out is getting watered down and leave you with a bad taste in your mouth. bring it back to its roots to where it was and what made the transformers a hit.....

Yes; the root.

1)The Ark
2)Teletran One
3)Crash landing on Earth, and laying dormant for millions of years
4)Character developement

It's not hard for a writer/studio to develope these things. It saddens me because the Transformers franchise had the potential to be this generation's Star Wars....

i say 2014 they dont have a director yet and they need the dinobots

No Megatron. No Starscream. No Soundwave. Is there any point in making another one under the same continuity? DOTM closes out with the Decepticon wiped out and the Autobots at peace.....
