The first one had Spielberg's stamp all over it.
Yup.
You could tell he had absolutely nothing to do with the sequels as far as genuine input.

Sort of. It's presumed the Creators retrieve his unconscious body (as seen in the first trailer) and manipulate him into doing their deeds with dark Energon, hence the purple eyes.
Although, with this recent TV spot, it seems Optimus' motivations might be more different than we realize.
I don't agree at all. Dark of the Moon is right up there with Revenge of the Fallen for worst.
I wonder if this will truly be Bay's final in the franchise. When Age of Extinction came out, it suposedly was the first in a new trilogy. Not sure if plans for the story structure stranged a lot since the writers room phase, but it would make sense for Bay to finish this new trilogy too.
Nice to see Grimlock back in for another movie, I wonder if he'll get a speaking roll this time? Do we know of any other Autobots other than Bee and Prime that are in the movie?
Seeing the newer footage and hearing the various theories online gave me an interesting theory regarding the character of Squeeks:
While we don't know for certain, it does seem more likely in the extended TV Super Bowl Spot Optimus is conversing with a female entity he refers to as "My Maker". Some have theorized that this female entity very well could be Solus Prime, one of the 13 original Primes.
One of the more notable things in Solus Prime's possession is the Forge, a relic of magic and science in some continuities, which can basically be used to make anything. Some users on the TFW2005 boards have speculated that the hammer Bumblebee wields against Optimus in the new spot could be the Forge of Solus Prime.
As far as what this has to do with Squeeks, one particular piece of info referred to Squeeks being unable to transform completely due to being damaged for some reason, and that Isabella Moner's character is a welder and is constantly trying to fix him. It was also said that his character at some point in the film has a really great character moment where he really shows what he can do. But, if he can't transform completely, how does he do this?
Well, taking all this info into account, I think at some point in the film, Squeeks' gets repaired by the Forge of Solus Prime (either by taking it or Isabella somehow using it to fix Squeeks, since she fixes things), and his big heroic moment in the film is him transforming to his full bot form and saving the day in some form or fashion. What he does, I don't know.
What do you think?
