How do you know the profits fund terrorism? Who said so? And does 100% of it go to terrorists?

If farmers are giving their money to anti-Western extremists, (ie: terrorists) the problem remains THOSE TERRORISTS.

and! About the comparison to Opium...you are comparing hard drugs to soft drugs, and that's unfair. Marijuana has been determined by science to be relatively (and I don't mean completely, just relatively) harmless...sure, it has bad effects, but nothing bad enough to justify its worldwide persecution.

Think of the "hearts and minds" argument. These people grow marijuana and pay protection money to terrorists. When we come along and burn crops, who do you think they'll support? The terrorists, of course! We look like barbarians doing this.

Those "farmers" are part of a world-wide drug trade that kills millions of people each year via illegal activities. The necessity of feeding one's family does not validate any and all behavior.

Solution: The US should legalize it. Then bring the plants here and sell them in controlled cafes at a tax of 40% which can be used to finance the war on terror.

Take money from the terrorists and use it against them.
