After smashing box-office records with Titanic, James Cameron segued to television with a primetime series. Now, after topping Titanic’s record haul with his new box-office mammoth Avatar, Cameron is returning to television with what will no doubt become one of the hottest projects this development season: a TV series take on his 1994 action comedy True Lies that starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jamie Lee Curtis.

James Cameron's True Lies Series Goes to ABC

James Cameron's TV adaptation of his 1994 hit True Lies has landed at ABC.

Lightstorm Entertainment and 20th Century Fox TV are producing with Rene Echevarria ("The 4400") as writer/showrunner and co-executive producer. Cameron will produce the series.

The original film starred Arnold Schwarzenegger as Harry Tasker, an everyday man leading a double life as a top-level spy. When he learns that his unknowing wife (Jamie Lee Curtis) is unsatisfied with the banality of their life together and, as a result, is planning on having an affair, Tasker accidentally pulls her into his secret battle against Middle Eastern terrorists.

Cameron has previously developed and produced "Dark Angel," and also took the director's chair for the series finale.

Damn cool news. They just need to cast everyone correctly and this could be one hell of a show.

Just don't try to cast a pretty ass boy actor for Arnold's part. I'm not saying copy Arnold, just cast it right.

Sounds good. Possi ly have arnolds character in charge of the agency and eliza as an agent working together. Then, end of shift, the father daughter dynamic at home. Just an idea. Tom arnold will probably try to get a role but as dr evil suggested earlier he was good in this.

I think starting brand new with a different agent and superior officer is the best way to go.
