Honestly, how would you rate Trump's Inaugural Speech.

Do you feel hopeful or dismay?

Do you trust he mean what he said in the speech or think it's just platitudes?

What are some of your opinions & feedback after hearing & examining his inaugural speech....good or bad, positive or negative.

-100

It was nationalist to the core, bordering on fascism.
It was basically "f**k the world, we are 'Murica, the greatest country in the world"

Unfortunately, it was what i was expecting.

This world will never evolve until we stop looking at us as Americans, French, Italians, Portuguese, Spanish, British....and start looking at us as we should, that above all else...WE ARE HUMAN BEINGS!

For a while I've been making Immortan Joe jokes about Trump but I guess I should have been referencing Bane more.

And really, if The Dark Knight Rises came out now we'd read it as hilariously on-the-nose: The villain coming in and whipping up a frenzy against the elites with a vaguely populist message for his own nefarious ends.

I had to laugh a bit about him talking about middle class wealth being ripped away and distributed around the world when statistically speaking it all being concentrated right here in the pockets of people like him and his cabinet.

Trump's speech in a nutshell..

The speech was OK, I feel a little more hopeful but not particularly impressed. He did best in seemingly sincerely expressing that a lot of what people want (great education, safe neighborhoods, good jobs) are not just things that would be nice but unrealistic but actually just and reasonable demands and that for too long we've been either assisting or losing to other countries and not giving enough assistance or improvements to our country.

It was also a reasonable argument or at least idea that Washington insiders had become pretty disconnected and we should have debates but try to pursue and recognize that we pursue similar goals.

It certainly was nationalist and populist but not in a particularly unusual or extreme way or intolerant.

I'm sure more would be more hopeful in his message if it weren't for the fact that his cabinet is now made up of a bunch of unqualified billionaires.

Nothing says "taking the power out of Washington and giving it back to the people" like filling your Cabinet with billionaire lobbyists and corporate executives.

It's nonsense.
What a hilariously awful speech.

"We're gonna build roads and highways! We're gonna build bridges! We're gonna go to space! We're gonna bring back dinosaurs! We're gonna kill all the bad guys! We're all gonna be rich! We're all gonna live forever!"

We are going to stop Islamic Terrorism completely....totally, completely....does he actually believe this stuff?

As long as his supporters believe it, he can care less.

Aren't these speeches always full of promises and grandstanding? They're meaningless.

I wish he'd pull the trigger. I'd like the before and after pics.

Well, there are lofty ideals that are always spouted. Hope for America, Make America Great again.....but eradicating all Islamic terrorists? Really....?

As far as rating the speech. How bad the speech was really had nothing to do with Trump. The speech writer however, should be fired. That was arguably the worst speech I have ever heard. It seriously sounded like a 12 year old wrote it. It was like they wrote the speech for people with no more than an 8th grade education.

Yeah, it was an awfully written speech. It had no flow, no body, it was just "we'll do this, then this, then this, then this, MURICA, then this..."

Supposedly he wrote it entirely himself, so I guess go figure.

Especially since he wants to cut down on American involvement in overseas matters but still make the military "strong" again. His ideas don't jive.

Dear Trump, your speech. It's full of it

Well, he needs to hire some speech writers.

Loved it.

President Donald Trump (love seeing that in print now) has promised to put America first and restore the power of the people. Here's hoping it's not all talk.

Trump vowed "to rebuild our country and restore its promise for all of our people."

"We are transferring power from Washington, D.C. and giving it back to you the people," he said.

"What truly matters is not which party controls our government, but whether our government is controlled by the people."

THE PRESIDENT: And while they celebrated in our nation’s capital, there was little to celebrate for struggling families all across our land.

CROWD: (applause, whistles and cheers)

They were standing right behind him as he calls them out!

So many prayers to God last night and today. I can't help but wonder how liberals will handle it. Loved all six readings/scriptures read at the Inauguration. They all did a great job.

Kind of funny coming from a man who lost the popular vote by several million people.

Maybe his youngest son wrote it for him.

We'll certainly see if a man who has spent his entire life grasping at every dollar he could find will decide to return power to the populace. And, exactly how he plans to do that.....

IMO, the American (and those in other countries) people have been stripped of power by the very corporations he creates and supports. Money flows uphill and statistics bear that out. This isn't a Washington DC thing; this is who is pulling the strings on many of those in DC. I think some people have it backasswards.

Time will tell.
