TV Series Nominations and TV Tournament

I like both shows, but Supernatural is a tad better, so I'd say SPN is the better show.

And you can't say BSG moved on so it's the better show, because we've seen better shows lose. On here and even the animated series tournament.
Well of course I'm not gonna say that. That would be stupid, considering the whole reason you brought it up is because Soapy and I were lamenting that the better show did NOT move on in the MM vs TWD match. I'm just saying the BSG vs. SPN match is one of the cases where the better show DID move on, imo, when it comes to writing, acting, cinematography, etc.

I dropped SPN on my regular viewing schedule sometime during S2, but I tried to get back into it when I heard it got better. But to get to that "better" bit, I had to wade through a whole bunch of crap (S3), and yes, with the introduction of Castiel and that whole storyline, S4 was better. Then S5 went right back downhill and I gave up. And yes, BSG had it's weaker periods, too, but they were far more watchable and still interesting than SPN's, imo. I just felt it was far more consistently good than SPN.

And as actors, I really just don't think Jensen and Jared can compare to what James Callis, Katee Sackhoff, Michael Hogan or Mary McDonnell did throughout BSG. The FX/cinematography in BSG were downright beautiful sometimes too, whereas I've never really been all that impressed with SPN's aesthetic, even though SPN has a bigger budget than BSG. Despite any misgivings about how it ended, BSG was just a better-crafted work all-around, imo.

On the current match, I voted for Sunny simply because I actually enjoy it while Jerry Seinfeld is like nails on a chalkboard for me, but having seen plenty of Seinfeld, I can still admit that Seinfeld is objectively, the better and more significant show. So I feel your pain there, Sawyer. But I'm not changing my vote. :oldrazz:

:awesome:

If it were Curb Your Enthusiasm instead of Seinfeld then I would have gone with that over Sunny. Alas it isn't.

With a Score of 7-3-1 It's Always Sunny Moves on

Last Battle of this round.

Round 3 Battle 8

The Twilight Zone

VS.

Lost

VS.

The Wire

The Twilight Zone. Without it, there would be no LOST. And therefore, I would cease to exist.

Damn, I'm torn between Twilight Zone and The Wire.

The Wire needs a vote. I'm gonna go with The Wire.

The Twilight Zone but man I wish I can find a way to watch The Wire.

Edit: Wrong thread.

While i'm here, casting a vote for Twilight Zone.

To each their own I suppose. I loved Supernatural from the beginning and even if I can say season seven was my least liked season, I still enjoyed the episodes. It's hard to compare the actors because they're with totally different shows, but I much prefer SPN mostly because it speaks to me more. The dilemma with the brothers and how I've had trouble with my own brother in the past(obviously not like the series though, lol) and the whole Christian mythology that I just love. Season five was actually my favorite because I greatly enjoyed Mark's Lucifer(which is also why I highlight Halucifer during season seven when I didn't like the season that much).

Fair enough. :)

As for this round, Buffy.

I can't believe LOST just lost to Twilight Zone and The Wire :(
Are you really that surprised? The Twilight Zone was a game changer and one of LOST's main inspirations, and The Wire has been declared by many a critic (both in the US and overseas) as possibly the greatest show ever made. LOST was a good show but that's some pretty heavy competition right there. No shame in that loss.
