Action-Adventure Twister Reboot ‘Twisters’ | Universal Pictures

My mates i saw this with said it was quite forgettable and wouldn't watch again. I personally found it average with no redeeming qualities. The cast was great the plot was " meh " but it lacked something compared to the original. Disaster films in general haven't been quite right since the 90s imo

That decision not to have Kate and Tyler Kiss at the end with all that sexual tension built up through the film may have pleased some fans here but honestly that was not the right decision

I think it was the Tornado's themselves. They just didn't seem scary in the new movie at all. Especially with Tyler driving into the middle of them to shoot fireworks or flares.

Diminished the threat for me. The Tornado's in the original had much more presence and felt like a force to be reckoned with. Didn't get any of that here.

The thing is tornado chasers have similar trucks now where if I remember correctly they didn't when the first movie came out. I'm not saying they drive into tornados and shoot fireworks but they do build trucks to try and get as close as possible. But I agree the tornados had a different feel. I think in the first movie they were almost a character themselves rather they were ment to be or not. But in Twisters they may approach them from too much of a scientific point of view.

The tornadoes in the original were much more ominous, yes - but the effects were way, way better, too. They looked real. Which made their strength much more scary.

The money-shot of the tornado taking out the barn behind the yellow Jeep truck is insane. It not only looks amazing, but it's memorable. I can't think of any shot in the new film that looked this real.

I liked Twisters a lot, though. But I do feel the tornadoes actually looked real and scary in the original. In this new one, it seemed like they tried to not show you the tornado.

I watched both films recently. Nothing in Twister looks "real". It's very fun though. As is Twisters.

Not gonna lie, Glen Powell and Daisy Edgar-Jones' charm was more engaging than the action scenes. When they get together the movie lights up.
Although that sequence at night after the rodeo was great, much like the same scene in the first one. There's something much more menacing about a big tornado that you can't really see the size of.

While everyone was preoccupied with Alien Romulus last night, I finally checked this one out. I was impressed by how much fun it was. It's been a good while since I saw the original Twister but I had a lot more fun watching this, mainly thanks to Daisy and Glen. The supporting cast was fun too, I wish we had seen just a little more of them.

Definitely felt like a good old fashioned '90s blockbuster.

Finally saw this a couple nights ago... and it was incredibly bland. I was bored. The acting was bland. The characters were bland. The music was awful. Ironically, my favorite character was the reporter following Glen Powell around. That's not a good thing.

And why the f*** did they tease who Kate's mom was!?!? I knew going into it that Helen Hunt wasn't involved, but my two friends that came with me didn't. And there was an audible "WTF" when Maura Tierney emerged from the shadow, and not Hunt. I don't know if that was a writing decision or what, but it was a horrible choice to make. In the opening scene when Kate was on the phone with her mom, they should've had another character say something like "tell Cathy I said hi!", just to let the audience know right up front "hey, this isn't Jo and Bill's daughter." But no, they had to tease it. Dumb. I'll probably never see this movie again.

Oh, and David Corenswet was terrible. My faith in him as Superman is next to nothing.

2/10

Saw it the other day, it was OK but didn't wow me and I rolled my eyes at those anchors he use to dig into the ground to hold the truck down. Sorry but I seen the aftermath of tornadoes pulling tree's out of the ground and those 2 little things going hold that truck down?

Hilarious it's not even the kiss scene. lol

I wonder why they cut it out. Maybe they wanted to make it more appear like more of a love triangle between Powell and Anthony Ramos?

The supporting cast in this one is nothing compared to PSH and Alan Ruck
They could have been if given more screentime, especially Brandon Perea since he had maybe the most memorable line in the movie with "We got twins! TWINS!".

I finally saw this (while lying down in my bed) and it was okay. Not great, not disappointing but Okay. This could have been worse given the track record of disaster movies. Very middle of the road kind of movie so I get with people finding it bland. There were no "wtf" moments for a disaster movie, even though I'm not convinced about the science project that the female lead character was working on.

I was expecting Glen/Daisy to make out in that airport in the final scene and good thing, they didn't, because I was ready to roll my eyes. No one from the supporting cast stood out. Its basically the 3 characters in the poster and the rest didn't really matter in the end. I'm surprised how little the role of the new Superman was in this movie. But he was very good eye candy for me. Over all, I enjoyed it.

Watched this a few days ago and had to think about it for a bit.

Final thoughts, I'm not a fan. Probably won't watch it again.

The film to me lacked a lot of heart that the original had. I never felt connected to the main characters whether it be the writing or rushed feeling perhaps? I'm not sure.

The tornados were not as scary as the first film. I know the film opens with a traumatic experience and scary situation, but once they later shown that despite the damage a tornado can do, a Dodge Ram can drive right into one and use some cork screws to hold it to the ground and it will be fine...... like get outta here. I know, I know, even the first film had ridiculous moments, but this film just couldnt keep its own made-up physics in check.

Hmm I saw the first one, last week to compare it to this new one. And I prefer this new one.

I agree the tornadoes in the first film look a bit more terrifying. But both movies are really bland. I just found the new film better, because imo, the two lead characters are written better. I don't like the love triangle story arc in the first film and the male lead character looks worse because of it.

Didn't care for this one. I think the actors are all decent. Lee Isaac Chung is a decent director, but it just never got me all that excited. Tons of buildup and no payoff to Glen Powell and Daisy Edgar Jones' relationship.

I just don't get why this exists? It's not even connected to the original at all. It's more like a direct to video sequel with a bunch of new actors and characters. Other than Dorothy there's really nothing to connect this to the original.

LOL it did kinda feel like one of those “sequels” you see on the shelves at Wal-Mart where you wonder, “Wait… they made a second one?” for a few seconds before you realize that it had no connection to the original. It was better than those movies obviously but it really doesn’t feel like much of a legacy sequel. I would watch a second one but I agree that a lot of the side characters were barely there. Katy O’Brian and Brandon Perea were especially wasted and I would have liked to have seen them get more screen time than random nerdy British reporter guy.
