What did the penguin die off, he says 'the heats getting to me' but to me i always presumed it wasa heart attack.

At the very end when bruce see's that shadow of catwoman does he realise Selina is alive? Batman's a great detective and it dont take a genius to realise that shadow was of a human (not the cat he took home) he also add's 'goodwill to all men.....and women'

your thoughts?

Penguin died of that huge fall he took from the skylight to the water below....

He knew that Catwoman was still alive. But knew she was only going to be found if she wanted to be found.

Penguin supposedly died from breathing the toxic wastes that were in the water at his lair.

Oh yes. But I'd say he wasn't entirely sure of it.

Well I guess she never wanted to be found.

Even after Batman had undergone extensive plastic surgery and Gotham had become neon, there was still no word of her.

But you'd'a thunk when the plumbers were laying neon pipes down in the sewer for Mayor Schumacher's renovations, they'd have at least found her and word would have gotten around that Catwoman is back.

But she was never found so I've come to the conclusion that she either lived down in the sewer for the rest of her life or she didn't survive at all. It was just the head of a funny looking cat at the end of Batman Returns.

That brings me to another point; she's probably dead anyway. In '97, Freeze froze all of Gotham. The first place that was affected was the pipes that lead down to the sewer and gutter, so the pipes probably broke and killed her anyway.

LMAO, great post socko. but i dont think i will ever be able to accept those movies as sequels.

as for the question, i agree with that penguin died from falling into that toxic waste, presumably the stuff he was telling shreck about in the begining of the film. remember he wanted to drown the kids in the toxic waste? well, he was the one who wound up drowning in it in the end.

as for catwoman, i think bruce still had a feeling that selina was out there. i mean obviously the shadow was her and he knows it, but he also thinks maybe it was just him thinking about her too much. i think deep down he knows that shes still out there somewhere, and obviously she is still up to her same old mischief at the end of Returns. i always thought that selina attracts cats to her, and thats why the black cat was there in the alley. kinda like BTAS, she always has that stupid cat around her neck.

I've always wondered why the Ice Princess in Batman Returns just stands there and dosn't try to get down from the ledge of the building. Her feet weren't tied so she could have very well stepped down at any moment.

I always thought she was threatened by Catwoman and/or Penguin to stay still and not warn Batman about they were near.

She was a platinum blonde with a surgery-enhanced rack, what did you expect!?!

Plus she wasnt exactly the brightest bulb on the tree.

Thanks for translating my post, if anyone didn't understand it...lol

Penguin died because of the heat from the fire. It might be confusing in the movie but it's more clear in the script. Here's how Waters wrote it:

Penguin rises like a wraith behind him, soaking and
bleeding and sweating. Wiping his brow and gasping for
breath, he stumbles toward the shorted-out compressor,
using his long, elegant umbrellas for support.

PENGUIN
(pants)
Gotta crank the a.c. Stuffy in
here.

He drops one umbrella. With his free flipper, Penguin
vainly twiddles the singed dials. Nothing -- the unit's
kaput. Fiery rubble continues to rain down on the lair,
raising the temperature even higher. penguin turns away
in defeat from the busted air-conditioner.

Penguin is waddling, slower and with greater difficulty,
toward the once-icy, now-nearly-melted moat.

PENGUIN
I'm overheated, is all ... I'll
murder you, momentarily ...

With a last ounce of strength he pulls open his collar.

PENGUIN
But first, a cool drink ...

Then one more step ... and he bellyflops in front of
one glistening, beckoning chunk of ice that was blown
out of the water.

PENGUIN
Of ice-water ...

Yeah, "What is that a camera or something?" lol! She didn't even notice it was the penguin and his face had been plastered all over town for the past few days. haha, stupid *****. :woot:

I heard somewhere Shrek was originally intended to be Dent but they couldn't get permission or something, so Burton made a new character and gave Dents part to him?

Any truth in that, and if so why wasn't Burton allowed to use Dent?

Say WHAT??

But sriously, what I know is that they changed Dent for Schrek merely because of the story purposes.

That picture of Shrek made me L.O.L!!!

But yes, it was all for story purposes. It has nothing to do it rights simply because Warner owns DC. All the characters are their specific property.

"The tree lights up, and then I push the button. No, no, wait, wait, wait"

*Picks up a sheet of paper and reads it*

"I press the button and then the tree lights up"

Catwoman must have threatened her to stay there or she would whip her or something if she stepped away from the ledge, because she said "I guess it's because I reasoned with her 'girl to girl'."
