I'm far from being a male chauvinist but I agree on that. Female comedians' standup routines feel either like they have something to prove...or they're trying too hard. Forced delivery makes comedy seem like work...when it should just be someone telling a funny story.

So my cranky ass artist tells me that we might not go see Pirates sunday as planned. I tell him that I will go see it with our other friend for her birthday even without her. He says that I only want to see it because I think Johnny Depp is hot in eyeliner. I tell him yeah, that's true, but the eyeliner has historical accuracy.

He proceeds to tell me that I am wrong if I think it is because of reflecting sunlight away from the eyes because it is in the wrong place. I point out the statues and pictures from most desert cultures show kohl use, he says it's "bad artists trying to show eyelashes" I tell him that there's statues with kohl AND eyelashes, he says I am wrong. I tell him that Discovery Channel, history channel, my art/theatre history professors, the guy at the museum and the anthropologist guy on the Science Channel say the opposite. He refuses to believe me, calling me stupid for believing all these LEARNED people, and not believing the guy with no college education who can barely SPELL! Then he tells me he is on his way to work, goodbye, and hangs up on me.

Yeah, mostly it is to make Johnny look hot, but it is not historically inaccurate, and that IS the reason Jack wears it and not Will (who would look hot with it as well)

He got trapped t: continuing arguing to save face in an attempt to be right about any small thing to cover his tracks.. but unsuccesfully so.
