Why are people so stupid?

Most people arn't stupid, just incredibly ignorant.

i find it quite funny when the little kids on C.O.D online think I have a accent. I try to explain to them that I am English and the language they are speaking is English, therefor they are speaking with accents whereas I'm not.
But aren't there different accents within England?

yea there is, some of which don't even sound English. But i hate it when Australians and Americans say to me "ohh wheres your accent from". errrrrrrr your speaking English mate, you're the one with the accent.
Now don't get me wrong i love some American accents, like the Cali, Texan and New York ones. But people should realize thats what they are, accents of the English language.

Everything is an accent when it isn't the way you speak. Hell, even what you're calling English is just an accent of an even older version of the language.

oh yea i understand that. i just get offended when mouthy little pricks on Xbox live take the piss out of my "accent" and tell me to speak properly.

You're not Cockney or Jafaican or some other weird, are you? Because I'd tell you to speak properly, too. Saying "innit" and replacing your "Th" sounds with "F" or "V" sounds...

If not, just take comfort in knowing that there are about a dozen insults you can say in English-English that most of us won't "get" when spoken to us.

lol well saying that.........i'm from Essex in England and it is a bit of a mish-mash of cockney. but i don't speak like a gommo with all that "innit, issit" crap. but these kids were telling me to go eat some crumpets and tea!! lol talk about a imaginative insult to the English. i just said go eat some bacon with waffles and maple syrup. lol

yea thats the thing, not ALL muslims are terroists, but at the moment the most dangerous terrorists are muslims. and people need to stop being so politically correct and face that fact.
muslims over here in England complain that they are targeted for random stop and searches too frequently, well thats tough luck pal.

I see your point. Muslims here (the USA that is) complain about being targets of profiling. I don't mind profiling to a certain degree but the problems arise when all Muslims are stopped and searched and when local law enforcement authorities use being a Muslim as probable cause or justified suspicion.

I know a Muslim whose home was entered without permission or written warrant based on the probable cause of being a Muslim. The Muslim filed complaints and appealed findings within his home as being unadmissable in court but his complaint fell on deaf ears and his appeal was dismissed.

Being cautious is a thing but being discriminatory is a whole other thing.

oh yea there has to be a limit, invading someones home without a warrant is just bang out of order no matter what race or creed.

I like how you used The Muslim, instead of Muslim person.:oldrazz:

What I really, really hate the most is when people give those stupid answers, they laugh instead of feeling ashamed. They somehow think their ignorance is funny.

As, well, stupid as this example is, I was thinking that exact same thing when the Dukes of Hazzard movie came out. I thought that in the original series, the Dukes were smart and Hogg was the dumb one. In the movie, it was the other way around. Someone actually said "Hey lets make the heroes total morons! People will like that!"

Actually it seems like a lot of "heroes" these days are a little borderline. Paris Hilton, anyone? Forgive me, but its like we have a culture of stupidity these days.

Yeah, its funny how we in the States say we speak English but we dont think of ourselves as English. Its not like we say we speak American. When I was in Germany a year ago I spoke with a guy and he asked if I was English or American. I just assumed I had an American accent.
