mass effect 3

GAME’s run of missing titles upon their release has reached a new low with confirmation that it will not be stocking Mass Effect 3.

Furthermore, Eurogamer claims that SSX will be the last EA game to be stocked by the retailer when it is released this Friday. This sounds like a rather bewildering claim, and MCV is attempting to check its validity.

Regarding Mass Effect 3, GAME has said it will refund pre-orders in the form of store credit.

The previously GAME-only N7 Collector’s Edition of the SKU will now be made available via other retailers.

But there’s no denying that the news is a terrible blow for GAME. The retailer has regularly been missing release titles in recent weeks, but the loss of a triple-A RPG hit like Mass Effect eclipses the issues has with Tekken 3DS and Ubisoft’s Vita launch titles.

It’s hard not to view the apparent collapse of trade negotiations with EA as a very worrying sign, particularly as EA is one of the few publishers to speak publically about the importance of GAME to its business.

MCV understands that negotiations with Nintendo are under strain, though seemingly terms have become easier with Ubisoft.

Mario party 9
GAME Not Selling Mario Party 9

Not available online either

It's emerged today that UK retailer GAME will not be stocking Mario Party 9 when it's released this coming Friday. In a Nintendo statement GAME and Gamestation, which are both part of GAME Group plc., were omitted from a list of retailers where the title will be available.

At the current time the retail group doesn't have a running supply agreement with Nintendo, meaning that distribution is being negotiated on a game-by-game basis. The retailer's websites aren't currently listing the game either, meaning that this issue applies to the high street and online stores. Recent titles distributed by Nintendo, The Last Story and Tekken 3D Prime Edition, were also excluded from GAME stores.

GAME's supply problems stem from its recent credit troubles, which forced the chain to purchase stock with cash rather than credit. This has understandably curtailed its usual buying power, and recent talks with suppliers and distributors haven't been able to secure positive agreements: GAME is not stocking Mass Effect 3 or any other EA titles for March.

With all future Nintendo titles being negotiated on an individual basis it remains to be seen whether key upcoming titles such as Kid Icarus: Uprising will find their way to GAME shelves.

tekken 3ds

GAME confirms it's not stocking Tekken 3DS

By Wesley Yin-Poole Published 17 February, 2012

Apologises to customers.

GAME is not stocking Tekken on 3DS, Eurogamer can reveal.

Tekken 3D Prime Edition, out today, will not be sold in any GAME store nationwide or on the GAME.co.uk website.

A GAME source told Eurogamer Tekken was delayed because distributor Nintendo had not sent the stock to GAME's warehouse in time for launch.

A memo was sent to staff this morning notifying them of Tekken's lack of availability. Our source couldn't say when the stock would turn up.

GAME confirmed this with Eurogamer today, and issued us the following statement:

"There is lots happening in our stores and online this weekend. We have exciting new releases including UFC Undisputed 3, and some great half term deals including £50 off Kinect and big reductions on chart-topping EA titles.

"The exception is Tekken for 3DS, which is not in stock, and we have apologised to any customers this has affected."

Tekken 3D Prime Edition's no-show at GAME is sure to shine a light, once again, on the specialist retailer's current financial difficulties.

Earlier this month doubt was cast on GAME's ability to stock new titles after it lost credit insurance with the banks.

At the time GAME told Eurogamer next week's launch of Sony portable console Vita would go ahead as planned.

Since then GAME has won the backing of its lenders and implemented a strategic review of the company.

Namco Bandai declined to comment when contacted by Eurogamer. The publisher pointed us to Nintendo UK, which is distributing the game here.

Nintendo UK is yet to comment.

and now rumours are saying they will not stock any future EA games. with the closure of gamestop recently its not looking good for UK gamers

So...I guess the N7 Edition will now, suddenly, pop up for other UK retailers? I'm not sure if it's dried up as much as it has here in the US (can't find anywhere to pre-order the N7 anymore), but this has gotta be a huge nightmare for alot of people who thought it was secured through them.

And, a huge opportunity for people who missed out on pre-ordering it too.

It is, but this doesn't seem to be a well traveled section of the Hype boards. You should check out the ****storm there was on the Bioware ME3 boards. I've noticed it talked about on other sites as well where it has been reported. Generally you're going to find it talked about where there are lots of people affected by it.

i'm going to be honest i had no interest in ME3, but its the news of talks with nintendo failing and EA saying they may pull a lot of future releases, no fifa,no tiger woods etc

I haven't bought a game from Game for a long time so this doesn't affect me so much, even if it's happening in the other european Game stores but man, it must've suck for the customers who've preordered the ME3 collector's edition there.
