Hello everyone! Sorry if this has already been brought up, but I read this at Kryptonsite:

Reports are flooding in that random sets of the region 1 edition of the Ultimate Collectors Edition have the old non-remastered bare bones version of Superman III in it instead of the remastered one that has special features like a commentary and a behind the scenes documentary. It is random and some are not effected while others are. There is no word yet if Warner will replace the disks yet and people overseas that ordered the region 1 version may not be able to get a replacement disk. They are releasing all the movies seperately on the same day though (supposedly).

---

Anyone know if this is true?

Pft, it's only Superman III. Superman--The Movie? Check. Superman II? Check. Superman II: Richard Donner Cut? Check. Superman Returns? Check. Max Fleischer Cartoons? Check.

That's all I really need.

:wow:

I know what this is all about. This is obviously purposely sabatoged by the WB so that will people will not watch Superman 3!

No, serioulsy, I agree. STM, SII (donner), and SR are all that matters.

I dunno. When I pump that kinda cash into something, I expect to get every dollar's worth, especially when there are a lot of dollars involved!

And the funny thing is that WB is aware of the mistake yet they're not doing anything.

Instead of holding back the release a few days to correct it they're waiting for public outcry and only then will WB get off their a$$es and fix the problem.

Thats ridiculous, I don't even know how that kind of error could happen?

I bought the Christopher Reeve Collection, and that seems fine.

Does anyone know whether the Superman III screw up applies to the Canadian Region 1 Ultimate Collection as well?

Canada does have different packaging because of the French translations on the cover boxes, so it may be possible Canada has the correct disc.

Even though I won't be able to open mine till christmas, as long as WB is going to offer replacement discs (which they should) I'm fine.

I care. I will consider myself cheated if i dont get the making of 3 and the deleted scenes. I dont hate 3 and 4 like many of the people here do. Ive seen so many lousy comic book related films (computer generation special effects does not a great film make.)

so I can find the enjoyable parts of 3 and 4.

In 3, his good/bad superman scene. All the stuff with Lana..

In 4, that brilliant visit to the United nations and Lacy pursuing Clark..very enjoyable for me, personally to watch. And if there are delted scenes of Chris out there. I WANT EM. Esp since they were promised.

I can't believe that warner wouldn't detect something like this before releasing it... so much for getting the Ultimate edition...

Okay, folks. Here's Warner's official statement on the Superman discs:

"Bonus content was omitted from the Superman III Deluxe Edition in the 14-disc Superman Ultimate Collector's Edition. Furthermore, disc one of Superman: The Movie Four Disc Special Edition did not include the Dolby Digital 2.0 mix. Neither disc is known to be physically defective in any way.

Warner Home Video wants to extend apologies to all of our loyal Superman fans who've waited so patiently for these great collections and has taken immediate steps to correct these errors with the intention of standing behind our product 100%.

Replacement discs can be obtained by calling: 800-553-6937. The exchange program applies only to purchases of the Superman III Deluxe Edition in the Superman Ultimate Collector's Edition and to disc one of Superman: The Movie Four Disc Special Edition, available as a single title, as well as in The Christopher Reeve Superman Collection and in the Superman Ultimate Collector's Edition."

Just so you know, we're trying to find out if and when future corrected sets might arrive in stores, and if this replacement program will work for international customers (who may have purchased the R1 sets via Amazon) as well. We'll let you know when we hear anything on these issues.

Will Warners let me keep the defective discs and have them send me the right ones? I imagine they'll want the receipt.

Just got my Ultimate Superman set in the mail from Amazon, and there is another major blunder, with my set at least. I got TWO Disc 3's!! Instead of Disc 5 (Superman II the Lester Cut), I got a duplicate disc of Disc 3 (the STM special features disc). Anybody else have the same problem?!

Well except for the error in S3 my portable DVD just died on me while watching Superman Returns.

Just contact Amazon.com through the Return Items section of your account about returning the set & they should send you out a new set within a couple of days (depending on how many they have in stock) via UPS. All you have to do when you do request to return an item is to print out a mailing label from their website & it is free of charge to do so. Since the package is to big to go into a regular mail box you will have to take it to the post office or wherever yourself.

My Supes Returns second disk has about half the features that they say it should have on the pamphlet they gave out with the DVD set (it only has the big-a$$ documentary, deleted scenes, and Resurecting Jor-El).

i think it's all there yoda. its just that they list the individual segments of Requiem for Krypton which is several documentaries combined.

My Donner Cut doesn't have subtitles in Portuguese. I'm really pissed off with this. Neither the box version or the individual edition has it. What kind of idiot releases this dvd IN PORTUGAL without Portuguese subtitles ?!

I know, it doesn't make sense. How could they get something like this so screwed up?

I'm hoping to pick this up Friday. Has WB fixed the problems yet? And has the posters thing expire yet?
