Spider-Man is not a team player. He's a lone wolf & that's why the 90's series & TSSM worked so damn well. It's a shame, that a legendary & smart guy like Paul Dini has to work with the hacks like Jeph Loeb. Sigh...

Jeph Loeb a hack? In what reality?

The Long Halloween and Dark Victory are amazing.

Looking forward to Chibi Toast Spidey myself but Thor Toad looks pretty damn fun as well.

April 1st needs to get here.

Is this sarcasm or are you serious? I actually can't tell...

The Long Halloween and Dark Victory are amazing.
To each his own. I don't like Tim Sale's art, but that's just me, okay?) + his runs on Hulk, Fantastic Four, Ultimates, Captain America & many other titles are just plain awful.

Well, I don't think it's fair to judge Jeph's writing on Tim's art, haha.

Yeah that doesn't make a lot of sense.

With that said I'm a huge fan of Sale and think The Long Halloween is arguably one of the best pieces (if not the best) limited series in the superhero genre.

It's hard for me to be only interested in the story (no matter how good it might be), if the art doesn't help to make the picture complete.

Thanks for posting the animatics.

Can anyone place that Thor voice ? It kind of reminds me of Cam Clarke's version from Ultimate Alliance but I can't really tell.

Wouldn't have expected them to use a short, chubby Doc Ock instead of the fitter looking Bagley version but I guess they'll go for humor whenever they can. It also doesn't look like Tom Kenny will be running out of voiceover money any time soon.

Hulk seems to be back in rampaging monster form, ala his appearance in Ultimate Spider-Man Team Up. Assuming that that was Hulk. Beetle is probably gonna be a pain in the @$$ like he was in the video game.

That was alright. The Green Goblin is the Ultimate version for sure, and he looks like ****. Even worse than he does in the comic. The teenage superhero team consists of Spidey, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, White Tiger, and Nova. Don't like the idea of placing Spidey on a team like this, should have just done a straight up Marvel Team-Up show. Liked Frog-Thor, cool seeing that in animation for the first time. Doc Ock looks terrible, and if that's him getting schooled by the Goblin I am disappointed. Cool seeing the Beetle, though.

Rant done, some things I like some I hate. Still ******** over TSSM.

Corny
Mike Vaughn is better in delivering Spidey lines, he does a good work at it, even if his voice doesn't appeal to most ears
How come that lady reporter wasn't afraid with Hulk attacking?
Batman/Superman, Batman: Hush, Ultimates 3, Ultimatum, Red Hulk.
  • Superman/Batman: Public Enemies is fun, didn't read beyond that
  • Batman Hush is crazy and stupid, but I find it rather enjoyable, and compare that to R.I.P with only Bruce's flashback in Tibet is interesting, and a little of Tim fighting on his own
  • His Ultimate stuff is so bad I'm with you all the way
  • Red Hulk isn't so bad, for guilty pleasure

His Marvel: Color is stupid angst and terrible sequences

Some thoughts, in spoilers:
PROS:
-Drake Bell as Spidey. Though he sounded very scratchy and forced in the official trailer, he does sound a lot more natural here. Not as good as Keaton, but still good.

-Frog Thor was amusing, I'll admit. And was that Rick Wasserman? Sweet.

CONS:
-Still not sold on the idea. I understand it was to make it "unique" from other Spidey shows, but still don't like it. It robs Spidey of some serious development and personal time just to share it with a team. Spidey has always been a loner, and that's how he works best, too. So...yeah.

-The dialogue and jokes so far didn't impress. Very childish, and nothing clever.

-The overwhelming awfulness that is Ultimate Goblin rearing its ugly head. To think, we went from the excellent version of him in Spectacular to....this.

-Was that Tom Kenny as Doc Ock? I shouldn't judge, since Peter McNicol voiced Ock in the previous show and did great, and Tom Kenny is very talented and can voice a good villain like Starscream. But Kenny as Doc Ock? Not a fan.

Is there some where else that has this footage? Can someone please PM me if they find these clips again online.

I find frog Thor an amusing homage to Walt S. run on Thor

I do wish I was able to see the clip. I've seen some pretty negative reactions... Should we be begging for SSM back, or does it at least seem okay?

If the clip is found again...someone PM me as well...I was sure that it would have gone viral by now...like everything else that is on the internet...

Watch Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends then say what you have to say
I think we need Spectacular Spider-Man to continue, that one is the best Marvel animated show so far

It's corny, it might ruin the show to you

I haven't seen the clip in question, but from what I've heard (and mentioned to me in this thread) it will be kinda like a throwback to Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends. Personally I prefer Spider-Man doing his own thing rather than teaming up with other heroes (the same with Batman), however I don't outright oppose the characters teaming up with other heroes, just not all of the time. After I grew to accept Batman Brave and the Bold as some kind of outlet of showing more of the DC universe and using Batman as the big name to do it (since DC/WB won't let any of their heroes shine that isn't Batman) Marvel doesn't seem to have that problem, as they don't need to rely on a single character as a crutch. I don't know if Spidey is the right hero to use as an outlet to show off all of the Marvel universe. With these teamups being so often I'm afraid that we'll see less of Spider-Man's non-superhero supporting cast.

Spidey's got one of the most interesting non-superhero supporting casts in all of comic book-dom...I'd even go as far as to say that Spidey's non-superhero supporting cast is better than Batman's *GASP*. With it being a team-up, and the addition of adding characters from outside Spidey's large corner in the Marvel universe, I am afraid that we'll lack Peter's personal life outside of Spider-Man...However, we'll see... Oh...also getting Ultimate Goblin right after we had an excellent classic Green Goblin kinda sucks pretty hard...

That show is fun

What better shows do you mean ? The 80s had tons of nothing.
The solo Spider-Man series of that era, The Incredible Hulk, and Bionic 6, these shows had potential to be some of the greater shows to air on TV
