Now that I've actually seen a couple episodes, I can actually say that this show is okay. I'll probably catch it whenever there's nothing else on or something, but I won't go out of my way for it all that much. It reminded me of that old show Lizzie Mcguire, where the main character narrates to you about their life while cutting away from the action. I have to say that I'm not to much of a fan of all that 4th wall breaking when it comes to Spidey (This could be a show about Deadpool). Atleast the character art style is nice... Not too sure about Ock and Osborn, I'll have to wait and see them play out. Hopefully Ock breaks out on his own rather than be a lackey for Norman. One thing that really strikes me in the show is the style of humor used. I'm sure this show will be great with the younger generations that are learning about Spider-Man, and hey, they'll learn about other Marvel characters as well. There are plenty of times while I was watching that I was reminded that I was not in the show's target demographic. In a way the show has a tone with moments that remind you; you're too old for this.

I just saw the first two episodes... and to be honest i didn't like it. There are a few good things about it but for me the bad outweighs the good. It's a great showand has good animation and great voice acting (except for Spidey) but where Ultimate Spiderman fails for me is in its writing i can't believe that Paul Dini the same guy who has worked on Batman TAS and and Arkham City and a whole bunch of amazing shows wrote this I expected better. Ultimate is no Spectacular Spiderman and i guess that's the point they are trying to make Ultimate is something completetly different than Spectacular. Spectacular was smart and edgy Ultimate is obnoxious and goofy which i get since it's meant for a much younger audience. I just felt that they were putting too much goofyness in it. I didn't like the fact that they have the Teen Avengers thing like a young Iron Fist and Luke Cage and Nova that just wasn't working for me. Didn't like the goofyness of the show like Spidey on a bike and the weird sound effects. And what is up with the Doc Ock Look? He looked like Mole Man from the Fantastic Four Anime on Cartoon Network. And i also kind of don't like whoever is voicing Spidey he sounds annoying. There were a few things that I actually did like the fact that this show was more funny i laughed at a few moments. But that's all this show has going for it right now which is the fact that it's funny. The show has great potential and i have a feeling it will get better as it progresses or atleast i hope it does.

can someone PLEASE make the episodes available for download? I'm seriously having issues with the site

I enjoyed it more than I thought I would, but I shouldn't be so surprised. I just enjoy seeing Spider-Man animated, I even like the less impressive Spidey shows out there like Unlimited and TNAS to a degree.

I liked most of the humor, but I think it was too excessive. Could have used more down time, or more distinguishing between its more serious moments. The tons of exposition I could have done without of as well, I think TSSM handled that better in its first episode.

The voice cast is great, lots of talented people. Love J.K. Simmons back as JJJ, that was a smart choice.

The animation is very exciting; the show is fun to look at and sounds great as well. Overall, I'd give these 2 episodes a 3 and a half out of 5. There's definitely room for improvement, I hope the show can achieve more of a balancing act with its humor and everything else in between. I can't help but compare to TSSM, which I had pretty much no complaints with at all from its first 2 episode premiere and it's not as well written for sure but it's still very enjoyable since its unlike anything that came before. It doesn't feel like a retread so it makes me feel a little less cheated over losing TSSM. Glad we will get some solo Spidey adventures, though.

a link to the episodes ?

I was pleasantly surprised by this. It took awhile to get into the rhythm of this show, but once I went with it the thing took off for me. Great animation, like the voice acting, and loved Ock's look.

I hope the S.H.I.E.L.D. aspect of the show doesn't take too much away from the pure Spidey moments, but time will tell.

I thought they were alright. It reminded me a lot of Teen Titans, which is good for me. I would however, like it if Peter didn't always have to explain so many things, it started to annoy me. I might watch some more episodes if I get the chance on some website or something, like watch cartoon online

Other than the catchy 60's cartoon theme song, that MTV opening music was the best of any of the Spidey cartoons, IMO.

I like TSSM and Spider-Man Unlimited themes as well.

and even though Ultimate Spider-Man doesn't have an INTRO with a theme song, the show does have a theme, the song that plays during the end credits is used prominently throughout the show, so technically that's the theme.

also fun fact: kevin manthei who does the music for the show, also did the music for the video game back in 2006

can someone post a DIRECT link to episode 2? clicking on episode 2 hasn't worked for me so far.

and I'd give episode 1 a score of around 8.5 to 9 out of 10. Sure it's not as serious as past Spidey shows but i think it has a decent balance of action, humor and breaking the fourth wall.

I like how thier idea of him breaking the fourth wall is more so using what's already in the comics and expanding on that for a tv show:

in the comics Spidey is constantly talking/thinking, and when we read his though bubbles when he talks about whatever is going on, is like he is talking directly to us, this new cartoon only expands on that by ACTUALLY having him break the fourth wall and also using visual elements to give us a better idea of what goes on in his mind.

I kinda like that.

Again I've only seen the first episode. haven't gotten episode 2 to work yet

After watching this,as fun as it was,it just makes me wish for a "grown up" Spidey cartoon.

I could never get into Spectacular Spider-Man because of the almond size head the animators gave Spidey but just finished watching the first twp episodes of USM and wow this show looks actually good, it looks like it won't take itself too seriously which I know will anger the Spidey-nerds but we've had so many Spider-Man cartoons that it's about time for something that hearkens back to a funny Spider-Man.

I already know the comparisons to Brave & The Bold are noticeable plus the self awareness humor seem a little like Scott Pilgrim to me which can work for an out of continuity show.

Also loved that they have J.K.Simmons as J.J.Jameson and even Agent Coulsen from the Marvel movies.

Caught the latter half of the pilot while waiting for the 9:15 PM showing of Avengers: EMH season 2. Surprisingly enjoyable. I might have to add this to my regular viewing list.

gosh friggin dammit why won't the effin link to episode 2 effin WORK RIGHT?!?!?!

Are you getting the apache tomcat error report too? I just went to get a link for the second ep but it didn't work for me

Nice. What do you think of the animation and art so far? I think they are really good tbh. Also what are your thoughts on all the tech spidey is getting

Saw it, and I hate it. Spectacular Spider-Man was just better. This show is like a superhero Family Guy...too much randomness, and it doesn't work. Was hoping we'd get a great show since we lost another great Spider-Man show, and I am certainly disappointed. The animation is very good, but everything else...bleh. Think I will just tune into Avengers every week and avoid this crap.

I saw a new commercial and it showed a glimpse of the Hulk and Wolverine episodes. Wolverine looks great, he's wearing the classic yellow and brown suit. The only thing changed about it is he has sleeves unlike traditionally.
