I'd love the entire movie if they only reference uncle Ben using dialogue, and then at the end we finally see Peter holding a picture of him as a child and his uncle, and it's none other than Smiling Stan! Corny, but I'd love it.

I love the concept, but I feel making him an actual named character, let alone such an important one, would turn all of his other MCU roles from amusing cameos to a really distracting plot hole. Not to mention it's unclear whether he would be able to pull of the acting, or even what role Uncle Ben will play in the movie. If Uncle Ben only appears in a photograph and it's Stan Lee I would probably be fine with that but at this point I feel like Stan might be too old to pass as high school Peter's uncle. Bill Murray would also be great.

Also this is irrelevant, but I would have a hard time seeing how people could have a problem with Martin Sheen's version regardless of whether they liked ASM or not.
