Underrated Bands That You Think People Should Check Out.

I've always meant to check out Captain Beefheart and Soldedad Brothers

You should, listen to "Trout Mask Replica". Great record.

- "The Dust Blows Forward 'n the Dust Blows Back"

- "When Big Joan Sets Up"

awesome songs.

^^^ liked what i heard, will check out the whole album soon

Hammerfall. NOt necessarily underrated, but alot of people don't know about them here in the U.S.A.

I wouldn't call any of those bands DV listed underrated.

Really? Nearly everyone I know has never heard of any of the bands I mentioned. Then again, I go to a high school where Lil' Wayne was voted the best artist of 2008.

How does your high school not know any of those bands? Anyway, Puscifer is underrated or underexposed. It's Maynard James Keenan of Tool's solo work. It's amazing stuff.

Powerman 5000 needs more exposure. I don't feel enough people really 'get' them

Hmmm, I think Gojira is one of the best metal bands out right now, but iunno if they are necessarily underrated or not... But if you haven't checked them out, they're a french metal band. Most people call them the "French Mastodon" I don't really hear any similarities with them and Mastodon, though. Maybe a tad but not much.

Here's some of there songs.

"Love" by Gojira

"To Sirus" by Gojira

Sorry if they're not really "underrated" but I never really hear anyone talking about them and I think they're amazing.

Of course where I live metal is very unpopular.

Sawyer, thank you for posting all that Red music! Never heard of them until I saw your post the other day and I'm loving their stuff.

I think Lights is underrated. So is the band Stars. Mew and Bat for Lashes.

The more people I can get to love Red, the better. My personal favorite is "Pieces".

Shudder To Think

Like the The Smashing Pumpkins, but better.

Dean Fertita of Queens of the Stone Age and The Dead Weather recently released a solo album under the name "Hello=Fire". its a pretty fantastic album. it sounds like a real evolution of the music he made in his old band The Waxwings. Real folky pop in the best way possible. the best songs on the album are the last two tracks, Parallel and They Wear Lightning.

i wish i could share those two tracks, but here's a video from youtube. its a real cute video.
