"The structure was found by dive tour operator Kihachiro Aratake in 1985 and has been a source of controversy ever since. It appears to be a construction made of wide terraces, ramps and large steps. However, American geologists have contended that the structure is not manmade, but a natural formation.

According to the report, Japanese scientists have documented marks on the stones that indicate that they were hewn. Not only that, the tools used in this process have been found in the area, and carvings have been discovered. A small stairway carved into the rocks appears to render the theory that this is a natural formation implausible."Japanese scientists have documented marks on the stones that indicate that they were hewn. The problem with all of this for western scientists is that it implies that an unknown eastern culture had developed a high degree of organization thousands of years before the earliest western civilizations. Geologically, the Yonaguni pyramid sank into the ocean at the end of the last ice age, around ten thousand years ago. Some western geologists have theorized that, if it is manmade, it must have risen from the sea in more recent times, and been carved then. However, the discovery of other, similar structures beneath the sea of Japan was also announced at the conference. If these prove to be similar to the Yonaguni pyramid they may rewrite the history of early man.

This is very crazy, if this is man made it sure does throw a wrench in what we know when it comes to early civilizations.

Seen this before. I'm really not sure that these could be natural formations, but then again, my background in geology is rudimentary at best.

That really is awesome and can change how we view history.

I bet this is in the basement of the pyramid.

One would be able to say if it could be natural based on its mineral composition - there are certain minerals that will form in a sharp, geometric fashion like this. However, most of them are crystalline in form, and the structure appears to be a composite of different minerals (e.g. rock) rather than just a mineral outcropping.

There are known natural formations that have the appearance of being man-made, but they do not bear any indication beyond shape.

If the analyses are correct, these Japanese structures do.

Forgive me, but WTF is that thing?

It's from the anime, Neon Genesis Evangelion. After decyphering the Dead Sea Scrolls, humanity were able to locate and kidnap Adam, the 1st Angel, at the South Pole. The Spear of Longinus was used to dampen his powers and help imprison him.

Correction: The being is initially thought to be Adam. But it's actually Lilith.

Neon Genesis Evagelion is imo one of the landmark anime series, although its ending was so convoluted they had to make a movie to address it, but it was still weird.

Btw, I doubt that pyramid is nature-made. They better send more scientists and archeologists to study it, and figure out how it was made and who made it.

This is totally awesome, I had no idea about this.

I don't think the scientific community is ready to accept an archeological discovery like this.

Like what?

There hasn't been enough excavation and investigation to even say what it is with any certainty. I'm sure that after going through the proper procedures and analysis that people will be able to accept the conclusions of the archaelogists; providing those conclusions are made rationally (and they should be).
