I don't know why this needs to pointed out as not a hoax. Giant and colossal squid have been verified for many years now.

It's probably because there WAS a giant squid hoax being circulated within the past couple of weeks.

Ever since Fukishima I've seen the occasional "Godzilla" animal hoax come about. Something mutated into giant size by radiation. Which even if it were true would take more than two to three years to reach that kind of enormity.
