Universal is bringing back Doom to DTV!

Nah. John Romero doing MIDI covers of Metallica & Dokken songs or bust. :D

Make it a heavy metal musical, complete with doomguy singing

I just don't get it. The whole basis is FPS that provides a certain feel and interactivity. It really gets more and more ridiculous as it's taken beyond what it was in the '90's. Minimilistic elements in older games kind of let one use their imagination to an extent in terms of what things are supposed to look like as you play through them. This is what these games are and where they end and really tends to be made into something different all too often.

I didn't mind that the Doom movie was like Aliens and having a group of Marines but it was Resident Evil in Space and had nothing to do with hell. The acting and effects was also kinda lame and not as violent as it could have been.

Also, the soundtrack was weak. The newest Doom proves a kick ass soundtrack elevates any situation.
I want Dead Space movie. Which is basically RE in Space with necromorphs instead zombies.

Oh my gosh yes I want dead space everything including new games

A Dead Space movie could be really good.

I've never been a gamer, but one of the few exceptions is the 90s DOOM game from ID, which I remember as great fun. The film that came out some years ago was quite underwhelming, although that shoot'em up sequence gave people like me some fun nostalgia. Hence me hoping that this hopefully might be a fun pop corn movie.

However, am I the only one that remember the rumours back in 2000/01 about Arnold starring in a DOOM flick? I got hyped as bloody f**k, but of course it turned out as only rumours. That could've been awesome..

Yeah, i don't care if this is STDVD or not, this looks incredibly cheap and the effects look like Halloween costumes. I don't EVER wanna hear you guys ***** about Will Smith Genie ever again after this.

Couldn't they have just gotten the guy who directed Hardcore Henry to do this reboot? At least he would've had a damn clue in his head AND it would've been in first-person, too!

Yeesh the doom twitter feed have already divorced themselves from this flick. That’s pretty bad

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

Universal is lacking IPs to capitalize on and this is what they do?

Being fair, they might have realized after the earlier movie that they had no idea how to actually capitalize on Doom in a good way. So, they settled on "cheap", and at least get a little of their investment back on the schlock TV movie market.

Its not exactly the most movie-friendly franchise, lacking in things like "defined characters" or "meaningful story beats". I mean, outside the new Doom 4 take, but that would be hard to adapt in its own way ( and might not even be covered by their license ).

The fact they are using demons and hell is worth watching it in my eyes. Low budget and possibly fairly bad but I'm giving it a chance.
