Uwe Boll vs. The Critics (literally)

Oh, please. I'm waiting for Mel Gibson to step into the ring, next. He'd probably yank Ebert's thumb off, stick it up the man's craphole, then accuse him of being a Jew.

Let's just emphasize the facts that the quote-unquote critics in question were net critics on AICN which is almost like Roy Jones Jr. squaring off with some lucky fans who managed to score ringside seats. Sorry, Mr. Boll, but "Uwe" don't impress me.

-so sayeth the mastermind-

As if "real" critics are better fighters? I mean, Ebert's a tub of lard (granted he's not as fat as he used to be).

I'm actually on the side of Boll here , strangely enough.
True he's made some of the worst movies ever , but at least he had the balls to challenge his critics. And they paid big time.

IMO i think it's easy to bash someone for making a crappy movie , until you yourself make a movie and realise just what kind of effort you need to put into a movie.
Same with this boxing match. Sure Boll is a boxing guy , but the critics realised that when you are actually doing the real thing it's not that tough.

I'm surprised Bol didn't knock 'em to the hospital. I know i would if i ever had a critic trash my work to bits.

dude, I don't even know where to begin with this. it's a sad day when Boll actually has someone backing him in this pathetic display of immaturity.

If you've seen Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, you know this is a valid form of responding to critics. Boll.

So because I've never made a movie I'm not allowed to criticize a film?
What utter bollocks. :whatever:

Anyway, since when do the real filmmakers out there give one tenth of one s*** what any critics, real or otherwise, have to say. If filmmakers actually did rely on critics to make movies, George Lucas would probably never had made it past Episode IV of Star Wars and we'd never get to bear witness to intergalactic incest tween' Luke and Leia. I'd love to see Clint Eastwood lay the smackdown on any critics who've complained about his recent directorial efforts being too dark or moody. I'd love to see that.

That might just be the stupidest thing I've heard in my three years on these boards...

Eh. I've heard dumber.

As for Boll. The only reason I'm for this is because it's taken directly out of Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.

So what does Boll have a PhD in? I'm seen him referred to as Dr. Uwe Boll sometimes.

Boll could fight like Muhammad Ali for all I care, it doesn't stop his movies from maximum suckage.

He has a doctorate in literature.

So just say no if he offers to give you a mammogram or colonoscopy.

The "Dr." is short for director.

You know, that's really interesting. Does he write his movies? Because I would think that somebody who went that far in the study of literature could, I don't know, maybe write a good script. Of course, writing and directing are two different tasks.

they are look at geoge lucas.

Maybe he got it through threatening to box every professor who attempted to fail him.

In the end this prooves nothing but just how childish Uwe Boll is for letting what the critics say bother him. Hell George Lucas did not do something like this as the prequels came out with those bad reviews. Uwe Boll needs to grow up

So, going by Boll's logic, I guess Mr. Lucas could hold a competition to see which critic has a bigger neck than his and all those who fail should just shut up and not criticise the prequels.

Or Chi Chi LaRue could hold a competition to see which critic has.. umm..
