I like a lot of his movies, but he himself is a big helping of crazy with a side of nuts.

And now we have to wait even longer. Really loved the trailer.

Yeah, and I get accused of baiting. Very funny. :whatever:

You've been here under a week and someone has already said that to you ? Solid going snake.......used to be a guy here, really obnoxious and disliked by most, was always fighting with I See Spidey......still not to worry.

How is giving my opinion about the release date change baiting? And you are still thinking about what happened yesterday? Seriously, I always thought that Valkyrie looked awful, this opinion isn't anything new.

I thought the little words Stalker and I had yesterday would have been forgotten by him. It wasn't that serious at all and I actually tried to defuse the situation...guess it didn't work.

The changed release date and negative script review made me doubt about the movie. I mean I always wanted to see it, but now I don't think I will like it :(

Tom Cruise Shooting More Valkyrie Scenes
Source: Variety
June 4, 2008

Variety editor-in-chief Peter Bart says on his Blog that Tom Cruise is going back to shoot three more scenes for director Bryan Singer's Valkyrie. Spoiler ahead:

Although the film has yet to be completed, several people I trust have seen "Valkyrie" and testify that it's a superb thriller. "Bryan Singer is back in form," says one source, referring to the "Valkyrie" director whose last film was "Superman Returns."

Cruise will be shooting three scenes in North Africa within the next three weeks. In one, his character, Col. Claus Von Stauffenberg, is badly injured but survives, a key moment in the film's first act.

Valkyrie is scheduled for a release on February 13, 2009.

Im fine with this whatever makes it better. This is the second or third time ai've read Cruise is superb in this.

I heard that the film is outstanding. I hope so. I like all Singer movies so far. I can't wait for this one!

The trailer really got me stoked for this...ten years ago.

Whenever they decide to release it, I'm there. Definitely looks interesting.

Reshooting again? Hopefully it works out..

strange. very strange.
What's strange about it?

It was always the plan to shoot the african battle sequences this year after principal photorgaphy in Berlin. Also, remember that footage of a key scene was damaged in a lab in germany and needed to be reshot.

Getting the A-list talent back for additional filming is more than likely very problematic as most of them are working on other projects. Carice Van Houten for example is doing a theatre tour right now.
Reshooting again? Hopefully it works out..
Originally they were going shoot it in March but when the decision was made to push back the release date (again) i guess the studio decided to give push back the start of the extra filming as well.

I'm disappointed that the movie has been moved back twice and this kind of publicity isn't good for the film but it isn't the first time it's happened.:o

I didn't realise that Retro, I thought they had just now decided to show how Cruise's character got hurt so they could stick an action sequence in the movie to bolster it with the mainstream and ad some money shots to the next trailer.

I'm basing it off of these qoutes....
Producers initially planned to film the battle somewhere outside the U.S., but that plan was scrapped for unspecified reasons. Instead United Artists–which is run by Cruise and partner Paula Wagner–is searching for a new locale within the US.

"We wrapped our production in Germany in October, but there was a desert sequence that needed to be prepped and the location finalized," explains UA spokesman Dennis Rice.

"But with all the schedules and logistics we won't be able to shoot that until the end of February. We wanted to do what's right [in terms of marketing] and not put Bryan in a jam, so we said let's postpone it."

Whoa!

just saw the trailer. This movie looks intense. Out of curiosity how 'factual' is it?

EDIT: Saw the trailer on Aintitcool and thought it was new.

Haven't they already released a trailer? A while back?

Yeah. I edited my post. They posted it at Aintitcool.com and I thought it was new. I should have seen it first.

Thomas Kretschmann talked about the movie.

Wanted Interview, Thomas Kretschmann

MoviesOnline: Have you finished your work on “Valkyrie”?

THOMAS KRETSCHMANN: Yes. A year ago. It was literally over like November last year.

MoviesOnline: Have you seen any of it yet?

THOMAS KRETSCHMANN: No, no actor has seen it. Will Smith has seen it. Ask him. He likes it.

MoviesOnline: How was your experience working on that with Bryan Singer?

THOMAS KRETSCHMANN: Oh it was great. You know it’s always this subject, German films. For me, it takes a little while to get into it, and being a German, you look at it with different eyes. It was a big film. I was surrounded by people who are awesome, you know, Chris McQuarrie, Tom Cruise, Bryan Singer. I know that I’m not talking about all the other guys, Terence Stamp. You know it was like big people and the pressure was on for them, because they shot a Hollywood film in Germany and the Germans were not so happy with that in the beginning. I think it was a matter of trust, that they didn’t know how and to what extent their history was going to be used for a Hollywood blockbuster. But the intentions were very serious from the people, and they wanted to be honest, they wanted to do an honest film, and I think that is what they did. I’m very glad to be in the film, and I worked with great people, and let’s see how the film’s going to be. They are shooting as we speak. They are shooting the beginning right now.

MoviesOnline: Who do you play?

THOMAS KRETSCHMANN: I play Major Remer. That’s the guy opposite Tom Cruise’s character, Stauffenberg, who single handedly brings the whole uprising, brings them down. He discovered what was going on, and he did a little thinking, and then he -- I don’t know how to say that – *****ed them over.

MoviesOnline: Are they re-shooting the beginning now?

THOMAS KRETSCHMANN: They’re not re-shooting, they’re shooting the beginning.

MoviesOnline: This is a very long shoot?

THOMAS KRETSCHMANN: It’s a very big film.
