Anyone seen the original series? I heard it was decent. With McQuarrie writing and Jolie starring I am definitely interested in this, hopefully it's more State of Play than Edge of Darkness.

Christopher McQuarrie has been hired by GK Films to adapt the miniseries Unforgiven, likely as a star vehicle for Angelina Jolie, reports Deadline.
The original miniseries aired on ITV1 in 2009 and starred Suranne Jones as Ruth Slater, a convict responsible for a double homicide of two police officers who, upon her release from prison 15 years later, is targeted for revenge.
The title Unforgiven was previously used for Clint Eastwood's 1992 Best Picture winner and it is likely that this project will find an alternate title (though the slight variation The Unforgiven had, before that, been used for a 1960 John Huston film).
McQuarrie, best known for his screenplays to The Usual Suspects and Valkyrie, also wrote and directed 2000's The Way of the Gun. His next project (now complete, according to the article) is the sequel to X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
