Saw this movie yesterday and enjoyed it very much. I thought Cruise did pretty good in the movie.
Have not seen this yet, probably will. But I always hated movies where the main characters were..German..french..ect. and they talked with an accent, even though they were talking in thier own language but it was "english" so we could understand.
What even TICKS me off more.. is.. they are speaking english so we understand them but then they throw words in that are not english.
Ie: Memoirs of a Geisha- Used Accented Japanese so we would "understand" them, but how many times did they use Konnichiwa (Good afternoon), moshi moshi (Hello on a phone), Arigato (thank you). Either use full english or not, not use accents and throw in other words. lol
Either go full english or do it in the different language. Otherwise its just silly.
Start the movie speaking "native" language.. then switch after a bit to english. to show they are speaking "insert language" but we can understand them.
Better yet, just make subtitles.

8.3 million on opening day:
Very well done. A good comeback movie for Singer after Superman Returns.
Tom Cruise did OK. I mean he was Tom Cruise, but he wasn't as bad as some of the early critics and reviews were making him out to be.
The Spirit on the otherhand was terrible and almost unwatchable.
Only yesterday Steve Manson was saying $7.35 would've been the best it could do. It's now the 8th highest opening Christmas release of all time!
Spectacular news.
I know that American people are used to do it, but if you keep repeating a lie it doesn't become the truth.Unless this movie has legs of steel it is looking to be a financial failure due to Singer's mishandling of the budget.
I know that American people are used to do it, but if you keep repeating a lie it doesn't become the truth.
Is that really much of an accomplishment when 3 other movies released the same day become number 1, 2, and 3? The Christmas record is not hard to break.
Unless this movie has legs of steel it is looking to be a financial failure due to Singer's mishandling of the budget.
According to?$100 million.
I'm hoping it fails so Singer won't be given a big budget movie again.
According to?
Financially speaking, the stakes are considerable. With a stated production budget of $75 million competitors insist it is closer to $90 million Valkyrie is the most expensive film made for distribution by MGM under Mr. Sloans watch.
The budget went up due to a production fudge up that could've happened on any single movie, including whoever the hell you love to watch.
Problem is, Singer also mishandled SR's budget, so is not the first time.![]()
