Various X-Men will feature in Wolverine Movie

I'm not sure about the validity of this, or whether or not it deserves its own thread, and just by a quick glance I don't see it on here, but I just read it this morning and thought you'd all want to know...

The man behind the script for X-Men: The Last Stand has reassured fans whose favourite characters were missed out of the movie, revealing that some were saved for the new film that centres around Wolverine.

Screenwriter Simon Kinberg told iFMagazine.com: "We did talk about a couple of characters that they wanted to save for the Wolverine movie spin-off."

The film-makers agreed that it was better to save certain figures for more prominent roles in the spin-off, rather than wasting the impact of new characters in cameo roles in the third X-Men film.

"There was really only one we wanted to use for X3, and they said they're not going to have a big enough part to risk losing them for Wolverine," Kinberg added.

He also let slip that the character of Sabretooth will make an appearance in the spin-off, commenting that "[Sabretooth's] relationship with Wolverine is under explored".

Wolverine sees the return of Hugh Jackman to the role of the famous mutant, but also a new role as producer.

That would be hard for continuity if it's in the past. Wolverine and Deathstrike didn't appear to know each other in X2, and Stryker had thought Wolverine was one of a kind until fairly recently.

I cant help but wonder sence there was such an outcry for gambit to be in one of the x movies if maybe they saved him for the wolverine movie? i know wouldnt make sence to put gambit in a wolvie movie but could it be possible?

Question for anyone who played the X-3 game. How did Deathstrike return, and would she have a shot to turn up in Wolvie's solo after the games events?

In all fairness, Wolverine's memory is pretty fuzzy, and Deathstrike was under Stryker's control. With wolvies mental healing factor he could have very well blocked out his history with her.

But i'm just rationalizing.

I think they'll probably go for a a storyline similar to that of adjectiveless X-men 4-6ish where there were flashbacks to wolverines past with sabs and omega. I think we'll probably have cameo appearances of rogue and iceman at the beginning (as they'd be cheap!) and then he goes off on his lonesome. done right that could make an awesome movie.

I'm sure if Avi Arad had any say in this, the movie will feature "dark phoenix, sabertooth, magneto, and other 'famous' foes of wolverine"...what a numbnuts. It's too bad this movie property doesn't belong to DC & WB, Fox'll screw this up royally!

Figuratively speaking... I was merely commenting on the fact that DC appears to be hitting its movies on all cylinders (Batman Begins, V for Vendetta, Superman Returns), while Marvel puts out mediocre fair with mixed reaction, i.e. Fantastic Four, Electra, X3...

It never really explains how she survived, and she could come back again I suppose, but she dies again in the game via being crushed.
