Sequels venom in the amazing spiderman

A Daily Bugle viral article revealed that Eddie Brock existed in this universe as a reporter. Sure that they can always retcon that but given the backstory they gave Harry, I don't think they would go the childhood route again. And I also don't think Harry would become Venom. It seems too much to have the same character become both a Goblin and a Venom.

In my opinion, I think Sony and Arad will try to make Venom close to his 616 counterpart as possible. Venom is the main factor that screwed them over in the last franchise. I think they will try to avoid going that route again.
I agree with this. I believe they will use the USM backstory for the symbiote, but a traditional Eddie Brock is what they will most likely give us.

Anyone remember this fan film?

For a fan film, it was actually pretty well done IMO.

I want Aaron Paul as the Venom, I said it before. Maybe he's too skinny, but he can easily gain some muscles. He would do great as a mix of Ultimate and 616 Eddie.

I also want the actor to be taller. Hence, the game or channing tatum.

Tom Hardy is the one and only way to pull off Eddie Brock IMO. Aaron Paul could be great, but I see him as someone else (I just can't put my finger on it yet). Ben Foster could make for a really great Carnage, now that I think of it (he was originally my second choice for Venom, but his sinister turn in Hostage makes me think that he'd be absolutely fantastic as Carnage).

Tom hardy is my number one choice as well. Plus he's gained the leading man type star power that could cement him as the lead in a venom movie.

Darn right. That, and his new Mad Max film is gonna be off-the-charts.

Exactly I've been rooting for tom hardy as venom since inception. I really hope sony considers him and nabs him for the role.

Yeah, he'd be fantastic. He'd make a great pairing with Andrew Garfield, I'd love to see Venom encounter Aunt May in a shot similar to this:

I could see aunt may being sick and venom wants to psychologically torment peter, he'd do anything to get under his skin like visiting aunt may in the hospital without anyone knowing and then just leaving. Only to see peter at work the next and start taunting him about it, trying to get him to expose himself around their co workers, trying to unravel his life as he blames peter for destroying his.

I'd love to see them take a scene like that in this sort of direction though (since they're probably going to be taking a kid-friendly approach on Venom so it isn't too scary for kids to get beyond a PG-13):

My choice for Venom would be Jensen Ackles. And he'd do a great job charming May and scaring Peter.

Aaron Paul is my main choice for Venom.

Blend Ultimate and 616 together again, if you must; just give me Aaron Paul.

*While they're at it, give me Amber Heard as Black Cat too!

Jensen's knack for playing vindictive would translate well if he played Venom. Plus, he's pretty much the right height and image.

What would actually shake things up is to have Venom as McFarlane drew him without the silly tongue. He always looked more sinister that way.

what about his portrayal in inception screamed venom to you?

It wasn't his performance there that made me think venom, but I liked him there and it put him on my radar for actors to look out for, same with JGL. If anything his performance in warrior was closer to an eddie brock-esque character. But I don't chose actors solely based on any past performance but on capability and potential, and physical appearance too obviously.

With Venom - or any character - less is more. Is Venom any more impressive with a big head and lots of teeth? I don't think so. Unfortunately sometimes artists would exaggerate a bit, and it could look silly.

lol The Game as Eddie Brock? No, just no.
Venom should be based on Bagley's Venom

or McFarlane's.
Not sure who should portray him. I'm fine with Tom Hardy though.
