Video Editing Question: Those Black Bars

I have a Dazzle video capture device which I use to capture videos of my games I like to play. Now I have yet to figure out how to crop out the black edges for the PSP videos I've made for Portable 3rd and Freedom Unite as they are quite annoying to look at. Can anyone help me out?

I use Powerdirector to edit my videos and there's a feature where you can crop videos.

There is usually a tool you can crop/zoom in on the video file. Where it is, just depends on what program you are using.
