One of my friends is looking for a good, free editor to create movies on his computer. Any suggestions?

^wholeheartedly agree. It's free and it's powerful.

There's one setback -> you cannot convert your video to VCD or DVD format using Windows Movie Maker. You need to use third party software. My personal favorites are Adobe Premier Elements and Cyberlink PowerDirector. I like the latter because it can accurately crop videos. Alas, both are not free. The best thing in this world is not free.
