I used to have a great audio editor -- CoolEdit95. I coulde edit WAV files of almost any size, it had lots of effects built in. It was great.
then my last PC died and I got a new one running Wiindows Vista. CoolEdit wouldn't install as it was too old, so now I am without an audio editor.

Can anyone suggest a good audio editor? The built-in Windows sound recorder is way too basic and entry-level for my taste. I'd appreciate all suggestions, and links. Thanks.

I work at an NPR radio station and we use Adobe Acrobat. Works great. Get 3.0.

EDIT --- Did I say Acrobat? I meant Adobe Audition 3.0

Avid, SonicFire, or you can possibly get Soundtrack Pro for PC also
