There is only one way to get Master Chief right in a Halo movie and that is - get a tall, well-built actor who can emote and express well using body langauge, someone like Kevin Peter Hall (the guy who played Predator) and slap Steve Downes voice over him.

He's not tall enough. He's not virile enough. His voice isn't deep enough. He's not the type of "hard as nails" guy that needs to be the chief. And what are they gonna do if the story ever has him take off his helmet? According to the offical Halo novels he's white.

The only guy I can see playing the chief if they don't use Downes's voice and a body actor in a suit would be Vin Diesel.
