Ign's Top 10 Comic Book Movie Villains

And a guy with metal for skin that can shoot lightning is realistic HOW, exactly?

I don't really understand how Norman isn't on this list, just because his costume is kind of silly to some. Norman was a bada$$ villain. Far better than Hackman's Luthor. :down

it's not about the powers, it's how he got 'em.

Right, because all astronauts who get exposed to space radiation somehow survive and come back with superpowers...

Tell me, do you also believe in Santa Claus and the Tooth Fairy?

Obviously a movie about superheroes with superpowers isn't going to as real as a documentary. So if you want to have your heroes get their powers through a cosmic storm, fine. But to then introduce a villian who studies dark magic and wears armor laced with the skin of his wife is a little out there for a mainstream audience, even if they are watching a comic book movie. For Doom to just get his powers the same way as everyone else works out for everyone.

But hey, if you'd prefer heroes to be wearing their spandex and cast a 5'2" actor to be wolverine so that everything matches up...sure. I guess.

Hahahaha....

um, my cousin was like that.

It doesn't matter of the original comics are realistic or not: it's the source material, and it should be respected.

So to respect the material, you'd be okay with every Marvel and DC movie being animated, cartoon style. If they were to do that, they could be COMPLETELY faithful the source material. But that's not what audiences want. Even comic fans want more than moving panels. So as long as these stories are being ADAPTED into live-action, reasonable changes have to be made to fit the medium.

I am always open to slightly different interpretations of a comic book character in a film (like Doc Ock for example), but Doom was destroyed in FF. That's a fact. ;)

I think Poetic Chaos should watch "Sin City", the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy and "Spider-Man" to see how well movies that are faithful to the source material are.

And if you actually read the FF comics, you'd know that Dr. Doom's power is his MIND. He is the greatest criminal mind in the Marvel Universe, NOT a mad magician.

He doesn't NEED superpowers (magical or otherwise), he can build devices and technology that can rival any superpower in the world.
