i've recently been watching two superb documentaries about he whole video nasties campaign in the uk in the 80's. where many films were banned, a huge moral outcry from the upper class and people actually arrested for owning copies of films

Video Nasties: Moral Panic, Censorship & Videotape

Video Nasties: Draconian Days

i'm curious to see others views on the whole thing, get a discussion going now that its been a whole generation from the event

did they go too far, or not far enough. how will history look upon the people involved and the most importantly with the way society is now could it happen again

Is this something like Faces Of Death ?

Is this something like Faces Of Death ?

during the 80's and 90's the british government and a bunch of moral crusaders (mary whitehouse) went on a major rampage against horror movies.

it basically got to the stage people were doing jail time for owning and trading movies
