I gotta stand up for Vince here. He doesn't always make gold but I enjoy the hell out of some of his movies and Rockford Files was great( i own most of the seasons). Jim Rockford wasn't a pretty boy who always come out bright and shiny. He was rough around the edges with a dry sense of humor and walked away with more bruises than anything. Vaughn can play that with ease. Vince seems to be only remembered for his comedic performances when there is more to him than that.

Vaughn is a good actor, people jus seem to forget that.

He has a good look for the role also. Garner was a big guy too. Vince jus needs to drop a few pounds...he has put some weight on

Yeah most of the films you mentioned were almost completely forgettable. What he is known for is playing a *****e, which he does well, but that's about it. It works occasionally but not often.

As fan of the Garner and The Rockford Files I hope they dump this project. VV only works as an obnoxious sidekick not in a lead role. Unless you count Dodgeball, which only worked because of Stiller.

"ROCKFORD FILES" the BEST detective show from the 70's.

No way Vince Vaugh will be able to do justice to Rockford.
James Garner was Jim Rockford.

I liked the fact that Garner was still young (so to speak) enough to star in Maverick alongside Mel; but alas, I don't think he's in any shape to make even a cameo in Rockford (he had a stroke in 2008). What could've been.....
