My favorite is Superman Retuns.

that movie blew chunks. it had no depth of plot, the costume and hair were wrong. bosworth was miscast, routh was too scrawny and the concept of superman having a bastard child was beyond stupid. the 1st 2 reeve movies were the best. coming in second is the lois and clark show. returns is the superman equivlant of the 2004 catwoman disaster.

the only thing good about it were the fx and that is no reason to see a movie.

Superman Returns doesn't hold a candle to the first two Superman films with Chris Reeve. SR was just pure crap.

I just watched superman II: Donner's Cut,and it wasn't too bad,did the xtra footage make it better,somewhat. Just watching the it again,just made myself say,yup this was an 80's movie. As much as I like Christopher Reeves, I just think Roth was a good upto date CR. Thats no slight to Reeves or Sloth,think they were good with what was given to him..

I would consider them almost even really, I liked them all. Its hard to go back and watch Superman 1 and 2 its just so 80ish,lol..

I like aspects of each movie in different ways,so I liked them all as equally. YES! I liked the new costume,its not so cartoony as original. It was an upto date look. If was just like the orginal ppl would complain that it looked so cheesy(and make Roth look to much like CR).

Have not seen Superman Returns yet. I am thinking of renting it tonight but I may just wait for PPV.

You need only to do a side-by-side comparison of pics of Reeve and Routh to see who was the "scrawnier" and it is, without a doubt, Reeve!

I made a similar opinion in another thread. I am yet to receive death threats over the phone and fire bombs in my mail box. Mind you I did it in a mature way with no bad intentions. But they couldn't take it.

I think the suit actually makes him look bigger. I think that was one of the reasons for the smaller "S", to make his chest appear bigger. In any case, yes Routh is "Superman size"!

For a pure fun straight from the seventies comic adaption id say superman 1 and 2 but for a up to date modern take on the character with better acting FX and plot choose i SR which i feel is the best of the movies. I love the way in this movie we find out more about the character himself his lonelyness and desire to find his place in the universe.

Superman hardly had any lines they were mostly one liners! At least in the first 2 films he actually had real conversations with people. I agree with you on the loneliness and trying to fit in, but I think this movie needed a better writer. No character development at all.

Like I said in another thread I WANTED to like the movie, but I just couldn't find a reason to after I saw it.
