I'm sorry, but I just can't vote them in.
If Rush isn't in the hall, the Monkees damned well can't be put in the hall.
Hell, no. They could barely play their damn instruments.

I'm not sure if they've ever been up for the Hall, but they're definitely not in. There are tons of petitions from the music community trying to get them in.
They definitely deserve it. Moreso than the Monkees.
I think that says it best. There is some kind of merit to the Monkees, and I won't fault you for loving the **** out of them, as long as you're aware of the realities behind their origin.Listen, I love the Monkees and their show, but Hall of Fame material they are not.
Has Rush been up for the Hall of Fame and didn't get in????
Progressive rock bands don't get into the hall of fame. The people who started it have ties to the punk scene and therfore despise prog.
And yet they can't even get the Sex Pistols to show up to accept their award.

Well, the R 'n R HOF's ties are more to American punk-the Ramones and such crap. But that and the general snobbishness of music critics is what keeps bands like Rush, Yes, ELP, Tull and Crimson out of the Hall of Fame.
You have to remember-music critics are almost all guys who couldn't play well enough to make it as musicians, so it stands to reason they'd love bands that did make it even though they can't play a lick-and be jealous of those who can.
I'm not impressed with any of the jackasses who run the HOF, music critics or the record company execs, to be honest.
