Sequels Want to know why we'll know soon???

I doubt that Justice League will be made by 2009 if it gets picked.

Excel greatly over estimates Warner's desire to have a super hero movie out in 2009. They aren't so egotistical that they will rush movies based on desire to "win the domestic crown"

WB is going to release a superhero movie, whether it be a Returns sequel or JLA when they are good and ready. They have already proven this by Horn's statement in regards to a Superman sequel when he mentioned the budget and the script. The same goes for JLA, they are still working on drafts of the JLA script based on WB's input and they are talking to a director that they think fits the mould. This is WB's show and they are doing what they think is best to make money, whether it's 2009, 2010, or 2034. It has been proven that WB doesn't need Superman to survive.

I think that is true about Superman. Its why I fear a JL film. It could kill the Superman franchise for good or at best push it back 2 decades or more. Not a good time to be a Superman fan IMO.

My beef with WB is not that they don't nee Superman to survive. No way they need him. But why sit on Superman forever and not do another film? What's the point. Offer Superman up to other studios - sell him. I think JL means WB won't even try Superman again if they do for decades. In the interim give another studio a shot. Why wouldn't WB do this? I don't understand.

My problem with WB is why do they not put Supermn up for sale. If they do JL I doubt they will even try another Superman for decades if ever. Why sit on Superman for the foreseeble future? Sell Superman to another studio. 20 years from now WB will be ahead banking the money from the sale. Why they don't do that i don't understand.

WB owns DC Comics and Superman, and it's still a lucrative franchise, why the **** should they sell it?

I dunno? If they don't plan on making another solo Superman till after all the JLA franchses pan out. Could be 15 or 20 yerars. Why sit on Superman? They sold Superman out to others before. Why not now. I am selfish. I don't want to wait another 15 or 20 years. If JL is huge which it likely could be you won't IMO see another Superman film from WB for 20 or more years.

Where are you coming up with this theory that if they do a JLA there won't be another Sueprman movie?

It seems logical to me they will try solso for the others first if JL is huge. The guys and gals who have not had films before. I could be wrong. To me that is how it seems.

No, no they couldnt do that. Not if they wanted to do well like they always do. At this point...from a marketing standpoint....and from a box office stand point...

Justice League for May 15th, 2009.

More than likely would be the movie event of May, and probably the summer. MOS would have to go July, not May. JL is just a far bigger risk...**** it up and you dont just lose superman franchises...you potentially lose all the characters involved, thats why Batman needs to get the hell outta there. That said...they still have Batmanin the script...Nolan and Bale made it pretty clear they wont be involved yesterday....and if they try and recast Batman the uproar from the internet would be among the biggest ever...while MOS is already cast, crewed, ect.

You've made a whole hell of a lot of assumptions here. You've assumed that...
-Either JLA or MOS has to come out in '09
-Bale won't do JLA
-WB would give a crap about Nolan's wishes for the character which they own
-WB would give a crap if we were upset about recasting Batman

Give bale 10 million, and he will do it...
Then again Routh would do it for the same amount that he got paid on SR because nobody really is knockin down his door to do it.

I think they could go cheap on the rest of the cast but they have to have Bale in there, and the right person playing Superman.

I doubt that they will give Routh that chance after the failure that was SR, and wouldn't be shocked if the WB turned to Tom Welling, James Caviezel or Henry Cavil for the role.

Would be neat to continue Welling in the role after Smallville ends it's run on tv. Plus it would allow the fans who want it the chance to see him become Superman! Suit, and all.

Actually from what is said, Welling is absolutely not in the running and right now Routh is the favorite because he's not going to be an expensive actor and he's apparently very co-operative with Warner Bros.

Hmmm...but Marvel/Fox did Ghostrider and Spiderman in the same year, why can't WB do Superman and Flash?

bale looks to me liek a serious actor who doesnt care about money.
from reading the interviews he doesnt like the spot light. so the reason why he is doing batman is because of nolan and because of hte story.
IMO he doesnt do it for fame and for money.

:whatever: Yep, he suuuuure hates being a millionare. I'm sure he'd hate to be in an ensemble film where he gets equal top billing.

Actors don't anything for free man, lol.

Besides, it sounds like Batman to Bale, is more of a great opportunity and pleasure to play such an iconic role. And really, it's opened many doors for him on the casting side.

So very much like Jackman, I think Bale does feel a sense of duty to play and honor the role that has rejuvenated his career.

Obviously. But he's shown that he's open to the idea of venturing outside Nolan's franchise, with the character.
