i loved this movie...liked the plot twist

This movie was decent... a few tweaks would have made it awesome.

Putting a real hardcore multi-stage passionate Li/Statham fight scene in there would have been pure magic. By the end of it, have them both so beat up, slugging it out that everyone realizes its not about the martial arts anymore.

Make the twist clear as day once its revealed. I actually left the theatre scratching my head a little bit, not sure of what I heard. It wasn't established early on that Crawford had been undercover with the Yakuza as well.

Work out the stupidity. Crawford turning Lone in to be "roughed up" a little bit and the Black Guy running in front of a guy with a gun pointed at him, among a couple others, was dumb as bricks. It just hurts.

Tidy those things up, and you could've had a classic.

As is, something fowls up crossovers, maybe it's too many cooks in the soup.

The One is such a guilty pleasure of mine, and it also was the first DVD I ever bought.

You know, I was watching the first 5 or 10 mins on Movieforumz and it didn't really look bad, the shooting action seemed pretty nice and Statham with a shotgun is badass.

I just saw this flick yesterday and loved it. Don't understand all the hate surrounding it. The twist at the end makes this movie come together nicely, and sets it apart from Li and Stathams other kick and punch fiasco's.

But that's the problem, the movie purported itself as being a Li/Statham kick-and-punch fiasco!! The whole hook was that it was Jet Li and Jason Statham, two actors currently popularized by their action films, together in an action film!

I'd have loved to see a straightforward cop vs. assassin thriller without the pretense of it just being a dumb action film. I'd have loved to see a film with actors hired for more than their prowess when it comes to action films.

And just from a standpoint of technical filmmaker, it's horrid. The editing is profoundly awful, and what little martial arts action is there, is very poorly shot.

I understand what your saying about it being advertised as a martial arts flick and it turned out not to be; then again, maybe by me seeing it so late when i had already heard it was not one, helped me to enjoy it better. I've seen worst editing. Transformers was edited horribly but i still enjoyed it. So was the fights in Batman Begins. Editing can make or break a movie indeed, but in the case of War, for me, it did not. I personally found it good, not great but good.

I wouldn't mind seeing a sequel.

Watched this film this afternoon, i thought it was a decent film nothing special, got kinda werid in places until you find out what the hell was going on at the end of it!

I like Jasons films, but as of late they all seem to be getting a little samey he should really spread these types of films out instead of doing them one after another

anyway good film 6/10

im never watching this movie again... i didnt hate it... it was just so 'noothing'...
no part of the movie shined... no fight scene was great.
