I know alot of you "Super" Watchmen fans would consider this blasphemy but I would like to see a Watchmen prequel with Nite Owl II and Rorschach fighting crime together before the Keene Act. I guess with the right script it would be pretty amazing but this my opinion. However I would like to know how the rest of you all would feel about it.

"Super" Watchmen fans..? Nothing super about common sense :hehe:

No offense. It just that I know some of the fans don't want anything touched as far as extended stories for the Watchmen series. But I would think it would be fun to see a prequel for a couple of the characters but DEFINATELY not a sequel.

It's tough. I'd like to see other things with certain characters in Watchmen (particularly the Comedian, NiteOwl and Rorschach), but the characters were created for a very specific role in the main plotline of Watchmen and won't work in other tales like most other superhero characters.

IF (and that's a big if) they HAVE (and that's a very big have) to make another Watchmen film, then a prequel is really the only way to go.

My mother keeps asking if they're going to make a sequel with Rorschach's journal to which my brother and I respond that it would be the exact same movie.

Maybe something with the Minutemen, maybe something before the Keene Act for a prequel.

I'd like it to be DTV so fans who hate the idea can ignore it and those who are interested could enjoy it too.

If you could convince Alan Moore to write one, then i'd be all for it. But barring that (which would not happen), no, I wouldn't want to see any sequels, prequels, or spin-offs of Watchmen. A attempt by anyone else would fail miserably in comparison to the original work.

Aren't there enough prequels already? Shut up.

If you want a prequel to Watchmen go read a comic book that came out before Watchmen or go watch the Spider-man or Batman movies. The characters in Watchmen are meant to be representational of many of the superhero archetypes. Their histories are borrowed from other comic books. There's no need for a prequel. Its like asking for a prequel to Kingdom Come or the Dark Knight Returns.

i dont it to happen, but if it does then RR/Nite Owl story would be the only one that seems interesting

They will get on this right after "V for Vendetta: B for Beginning" starts shooting...

Want a prequel?
Paly the Watchmen game, the end is nigh. The game story takes place way before the events of Watchmen took place.

It's supposed to be unbelievably bad, though.

SHOCKER!:wow:

It ain't great. Though the takedown are cool.

Rorchach narrarates too much with his metaphors of the criminals. Too much.

Prequel? It'll be a dream come true for me if that happens:hehe:

Interestingly enough, shortly after finishing Watchmen, Alan Moore contemplated doing a Minutemen prequel. Would've been very interesting, but like I said, only Alan Moore should attempt any continuations of the Watchmen world. It's one thing for Hayter and Tse to adapt Moore's story, adding their own little interesting bits here and there, but no way could they come up with a story of that calibur on their own.

Watchmen:Rorschach
"In a world overrun by ****es and politicians one man will save us all from the evil hands of Underboss, with his partner Nite-Owl they will stop crime and protect the innocent lives of new york citizens in this epic action-adventure prequel to Watchmen!!!"

omg i hope this is not true

Honestly threads like this should be deleted. This is the sort of thing that shows how limited the world is now. Rather than taking some creative notions and feel inspiration from a great story, its "lets take whats already there, and EXPAND upon it".

I guess me writing back to something I feel is garbage, makes me worse hahaha! I

A-Are you kidding?

No. I want to explain why, but if it's not obvious, then you'll never get it.

NO.
