Flanagan would be an awesome get. The Shining is less complicated than Dark Tower.

Yeah. Not necessarily as the showrunner, but just in a small capacity to tie things together.

Though, if he did want to tackle the entire thing, I wouldn’t complain one bit.

Since in this last episode we learned that It experiences time all at once, and it’s been established in the book and the film that Dick Hallorann can see the future, it would be kind of fun if directors and writers played around with our knowledge of the film in a meta way by showing us how events in the future could happen, and a lot of those visions he gets are how things play out in the book. So, in the Overlook series, we get both the book version while also adhering to what was established in the film.

It would also be a fun way mess with our expectations of whether those future events with Jack, Wendy amd Danny Torrence will occur how they do in the book or in the film, just to keep us on our toes. Maybe even bring Mike Flanagan back and have him be a producer and direct an episode or two to tie it all together as a bonus.

That would be great, he was supposed to do the Hallorann prequel film before it got cancelled due to Doctor Sleep not doing well at the box office.

That really bummed me out.

Chalk himself is at least intrigued by the idea of returning to the world of Derry, as he told TV Insider of the time travel twist that could bring him back into the fold, “I’ve pitched it! I have also said, ‘Hey, Dick can kind of do anything. Now that he’s connected to the universe, there’s no need to disconnect him.'”

I haven't seen the finale yet, so I skipped (for now) the last pages and perhaps there are elements missing from my thinking, but I have a question: if there are to be more seasons, can Pennywise really reappear with his iconic look?

I mean, if we fast forward twenty years into the future, we have the It films, and if we go back a few decades, not only have we already been told more or less what happened through some flashbacks this season, but that's also when it was decided that It would take the form of a clown...

So...?

Personally, the first three episodes of the series showed me that I could do without this look if the creature's appearances were visually creative, but I also understand that the clown look is a selling point, as the character has enjoyed such a resurgence in popularity in recent years.

According to what I've heard online, Season 2 would take place in 1935 and Season 3 would take place in 1908.
